How long before the airlines go back and ask for a bailout out due to the impact of the power outage

Hey you never know. I will bet anything is possible.

The power companies should take some blame--they're the ones who promised after 1977 that this could never happen again.

FWIW, I heard on the radio at 10AM that 85% of Long Island was back on line, but we didn't get power here until after noon.

There was a tease when the power came on for 5 minutes around 2:30AM.

from what Ive seen of initial reports, U is performing better than its competition in preserving its schedule, but that's on pretty preliminary information... an article int he WashPost.

It is sad that the passengers had to endure a major hardship in this event. U didnt help much by nickle and diming the creeping delays for intended ops. The handwriting was on the wall early on Friday morning. The rest of the day should have been pulled down. Employees had difficulty in getting to LGA as well as the pax. The Port Auth. finally decided to shut off departing pax to the terminal and utlimately evacuated approx 2000 total pax from both upper and lower lobbies. So much for the "usual good" customer service. Yeah right!!! ;) :p

What amazes me, is that Thursday when we lost the power in EWR the only thing working and lit were the restrooms. Ok someones going to say emergency lighting. No the regular lighting. Also the toilets, sinks which run on electricity were working.Hand blow dryers too.
All the passengers were very understanding.Unlike when we have a blizzard and they what to know why we are'nt flying. Saw people , total strangers find land vehicles share rides and find their ways north south and west.
