PIT OCC dedication

To nudge the thread back on track, here's a question that I asked in another thread awhile back (that never got an answer).
While I agree that keeping OCC in PIT is one of the few good decisions Tempe has made since the merger, why a new building?
Sure the combined HP/US system is bigger but not as big as US was in 2001. Why cant the current facility handle the combined airline?

The center is RIDC is showing it's age. And, the availability of fiber optic connectivity in RIDC is problematic.

Whereas the site in moon will be brand new, closer to the airport, and the connectivity from multiple telecom providers is not a problem.

And hey--it's not like US is paying for most of it, anyway.
