Pit Is Disappointing ?

Add in another data point, for a Saturday flight (typically not a busy day, but maybe busier during summer) -- PIT-MDW, every flight oversold till last one of day. MDW-PIT I don't know, but the flight I took (last one of day) had 3 open seats. Of course, arriving back a little after 10pm on Saturday its sad to see how empty the airport is, but at least there was over 130 people getting off a brown bus :)

Hope they add more flights to MDW...

If most legacies were paying the same as WN for fuel, they would be more profitable. There is no magic going on. It's not going to last forever and outsourcing is the future everywhere unless you are willing to work for less. Making fun of others misfortune is getting you nowhere.

So how do you explain the fact that LUV has made money for what, 30 years running?

And the legacies are not, nor will they (anytime soon) pay what LUV does for fuel. It's a moot point.

They will within 21 months. For most of the last 30 years legacies have had pretty much a government style workforce. Through the bankruptcy process (or threat of it)- its largely gone. If US and AWA pull it off, and it doesn't look like the government will let any major go away, their labor costs will be hard to beat. If the federal government would let the market and unions work freely it would be different. But all I see is airline management getting a pass to gut creditors and labor. Everyone "knew" UA and US would be long gone by now, I guess all the geniuses were wrong. I like SW, my point is the feds are letting failing enterprises go on forever. And I don't like mean people.
