Pit Hangar Closings?

Rumor has it when they tried to wiegh it yesterday finally it fell off the scale and now has some major damage to it (unconfirmed) as of yet.

I think I remember an AC falling off the scales in Clt and putting a hole in the door. I believe it was a wet-lease AC.

It rolled off the scale, and after investigation it was found the the job card was wrong, the company was at fault not the mechanics.

AHHHHHH yes!!!....It was the companys' fault!!!!! Get real!!!!! I don't give a damn if a "job card" was wrong!!!....What about common sense, or paying attention to what is going on around you????? 700, a job card does not make an aircraft "roll" off a scale!!   LMFAO

Once again, you were not there and you do not know what happened.

The mechanics and the lead followed the job cards, it called for repeating of applying the brakes then letting the brakes go, with no power at all on the airplane, the system bleed down as the mechanics followed the job card, the plane lost its brakes and rolled off the scale.

Glad to see you are back to your old self and you spew once again, you did not read the job card nor were you involved with the incident nor the investigation were you?

Maybe if you took the time to understand what happened you would actually add something to the topic instead of ALWAYS trying to criticize me.

Funny how the job card was changed AFTER the incident happened and the lead and the mechanic's discipline was removed.

Who cares ... he always preaches staying on topic then he preaches in this topic about staying on topic about an off topic topic

Lets be real for just one min.

The only hangar Southwest would be remotely interested in in PIT would be
hangar 5. First its the newest hangar, 2nd it has the overhead cranes installed.

With 14 flights a day with more service coming the chance that Southwest needs
or wants this hangar is close to zip.

Southwest has shown some interest in the TPA hangar but it is still caught up in
some litigation with US Airways and the airport wants to much money to support the bonds.. A deal is in the works though and look to see some carrier take over
the hangar in the next several months.

Now if they can get hangar 5 for say a dollar a year I think they would jump on that opportunity.. However knowing the county they would charge LUV 300k a year and think that they were being generous..

US Airways can leave PIT at any time now.. The 1 year escape clause is now in effect. That was the original agreement.. Look for US Airways to unload additional gate space in PIT after the next schedule change the the implementation of Southwest service into PIT.

I know that, but why would WN need or want a hangar in PIT with 14 flights a day?

Im not sure about a hangar in PIT but as far as flights and having a hangar are concerned, didn't U have a hangar in GSO or INT and have only a few flights? Just curious.

INT was Piedmont's ONLY Heavy Maintenance Facility, GSO was Piedmont's ONLY C-Check Facility.

All base maintenance overhaul was performed in INT and all C-checks and engine changes were done in GOS and GSO did have a substantial # of flights.

700, thanks, I thought when I was with U one of those hangars had cks being performed with minimal flights. I suffer from CRS, lol.

Can't imagine that PIT of all places would be the most logical place for WN to set up a hangar, but it's true they don't have anyplace west of MDW right now to perform inside maintenance, so perhaps they got a deal they just couldn't refuse?

You mean to tell me that something as common sense as chocking the wheels on a stationary aircraft is required to be on a job card?

Will wonders never cease?....
