PHL Crew Base?

I realize that ATA is a Major component to (possible) WN international flying, BUT WHY would they want to do it out of (Disfunctional) PHL, instead of BWI, WHICH WN..."RULES" ?

Could'nt they xfer a few ATA flts into BWI from PHL ??

ATA does not fly to PHL anymore. They pulled out over a year ago.
 
PHL is a totally dysfunctional airport. it cannot handle what US has there which is close to 500 flights per day. and US is not going to run away from PHL like they did in BWI in 1992. WN going to 100 which i doubt will happen wont help the ATC and ground stops which are daily even when its sunny and severe clear vis. PHL is the FAA step child.. they are between NYC center and DCA center. when it comes to PHL traffic they are told by NYC AND DCA .. we will get to you when we get to you. if anything WN has helped US in PHL bringing in more passengers. international service PHL dosent need anymore but if WN decides to go that route it will just cut more into a seasonal pie. Its a 5 hour flight from BOS to Iceland on Iceland air.. in the summer a one hour trip from MHT-PHL will take a 2-4 hr ground delay program. forget the international connection and if you miss it guess what you wait for the next day. WN will run into alot of invol reaccomodation problems since they wont be able to reaccom on another international airline. but the WN CEO already knows this. stay with BWI . WN can easily do international from there.. stay away from PHL...
