PA Union vandalized equipment and burned down a Toys are Us and a Church

Truth hurt?
Union violence is condoned by some on this forum.
There is no time union violence is justified.
John Adams put it rather eloquenly......"A government of laws, and not of men.”

According to the indictment, the defendants had a network of individuals, friendly to the Ironworkers Local 401, to help identify construction projects and job sites where work was being performed without using Local 401 members. The indictment alleges that business agents would approach construction foremen at those work sites and imply or explicitly threaten violence, destruction of property or other criminal acts unless union members were hired. The defendants relied on a reputation for violence and sabotage, which had been built up in the community over many years, in order to force contractors to hire union members. It is alleged that the defendants created “goon” squads, composed of union members and associates, to commit assaults, arsons, and destruction of property. One such squad referred to itself as the The Helpful Union Guys,” or THUGs.

What's the OP's point here? There are bad people in every segment of society, including (gasp) unions. The fact that we're reading about it shows the system works.

This is true.  What puzzles me is the amount of attention unions seem to get.  Listening to talk radio, certain politicians or news outlets you would think that unions were the worst things ever invented.  Never mind the fact that unions had very little to do with the the economic meltdown or the massive federal deficit.

Seems the majority of the workforce views unions in the same light as politicians or news outlets.

Maybe the majority have gotten a nice steady diet of "Be happy you have a job" over the past thirty years.

Biggest issue is most don't care and most don't want to be bothered.

Even getting a quorum at a meeting with UNION members was a challenge.

That's a big part of it as well.

The point here is, we hear about evil company's, on an hourly basis, via 700! So why not point out the dirty dealings of union members?
