ORD--PVK fast approaching !

Actually NRT is a 3 day trip. Usually you work a rotation like all the days that end in 1. I.E. 1st, 11th and 21st possibly a carryover 31st. 2nd, 12th and so on. If you left on Monday, you'd be back on Wednesday. In theory, because of legalities, you can fly NRT on the 1st, 5th and the 9th and be done for the month when you return on the 11th. That is a nice month!!

And another reason why no one ever really wants to retire...can you blame them? Another incentive is the military charters...or at least the Frankfurt-Kuwait City portion. The senior mamas deadhead over to Frankfurt..layover waiting for the more junior folks to bring the soldiers over from a different base here in the US...they meet us at Rhein Main and continue with the soldiers on the Kuwait "turn". They usually will bring another load of soldiers back to FRA, where they hand them off to us and then we head back to the US. They'll head back to the hotel and layover again before deadheading back to the US. That can average roughly anywhere from 22-25 hours for them in pay just by doing the deadheading and the Kuwait "turn"...and you get the added bonus of working with the soldiers on board where it can be one big party, especially on the way home. The US Government has that plane catered to the brim with food, snacks, etc for everyone including the crew.

One senior lady told me that as long as these military trips are available, she'll do them until they have to carry her limp body from the jump seat. The most "junior" f/a on the last military charter was around #200...the most senior was around #25.
