"Rep. Ernest Istook, R-Warr Acres, is encouraging American Airlines to continue flying from Oklahoma City and Tulsa to its hub in St. Louis.
American plans to discontinue the flights Nov. 1, said Istook, who met with American Chief Executive Officer Gerard Arpey on Wednesday.
"For Oklahomans traveling to the East Coast, the St. Louis connection saves up to an hour of travel time each way, and we need to keep at least some connection," Istook said. "Even if the number of connections must be reduced, we need to keep some options open, in addition to flights to their hubs in Chicago and Dallas-Fort Worth."
Istook said Arpey pledged to re-examine the issue. Arpey met with members of the Oklahoma congressional delegation for breakfast in Washington, D.C. "
I wonder how long Arpey thought about this after Istook left his office???????
