Non-Rev Benefits

When and where was this put out?? Haven't heard this - yet. Sounds good, though. Why was business class excluded and how are we to list on each other's airline??? questions, questions..... :)

NWA employees all travel info is listed on RADAR...We will travel on a new travel priority when on DL or Connect flts. The priority is called SNWA and it falls after S3's and before S3B's. We are ahead of other SkyTeam members and before S4's. Where DL people fly on NWA is not found on out travel website so I don't have answers to that. But in about 3 months time, all employees traveling on which ever carrier will use seniority as the sole boarding priority.

Just read that DAL have ONLY coach seats on NWA, no upgrades. NWA have BOTH business and coach available on DAL. Hopefully, the DAL nonrev policy will be the one they keep. No 8 hour advance notice, no dress code, can sit in business. Time will tell.

We tried looking up seats on the NW system last night. Found it to be a real pain compared to DL's travel net. I don't have a big deal with NW getting business upgrades. If they do get upgrades it will be a miracle with with what amounts to a S3A priority. I know here in BOS the upgrade list usually has like 20+ medallion upgrade request. Just getting on the plane with a S3 is getting pretty tough lately.

WOW, the companies throw you a bone and you chomp on it right away!

You act like they just gave you a raise or something.
They gave you the right to TRY to fly each others airlines.
Has anyone checked seat availability?
I'm sure non-reving is still almost next to impossible.

Ah, the little things that get employees excited

Your right. We should all boycott non reving to show them our disgust. That'll show em.
Seriously, why shouldn't the employees take advantage of any perk given to them?

Pass travel is the opiate of the masses.

Not sure where you were looking, but on our employee site, listing/checking availability/etc. is really easy. I know if we try and look at DL flights, there's no "clear" way to tell how full it is, etc. You can, but it just takes a long time... I imagine that would all change once everyone is using the same system.

Just noticing the differences in pass policies that's all. My guess is that they will adopt the DAL policy since it is already in DAL system. But they may revamp the whole thing where there is no BC in future. Who really knows what plans are in store.

I think nonreving is difficult as it is. If coach is full(usually is) at least DAL will upgrade NWA to BC. NWA will not upgrade a DAL pass rider to BC, therefore making it more difficult to non rev.

Passes are not a raise or a priviledge, it is part of the benefit package. Little things do matter.

Not true Kev...If you use the PARS Command Line function via RADAR or ATLAS, you can check actual loads on DL, CO, and KLM. All you need to do is put @DL@ or @CO@ before the VIA/ business. It shows actual seats booked and available seats. Its really easy. As for Pinnacle I wonder if the same rules apply to ASA as they are now wholly owned by Skywest?

Don't know but if you go to id90.com's fare calculator (at least for NWA) here's the message at the bottom:
"Northwest Employee Travel on Delta and Delta Connection flights including ASA, Chautauqua, Comair, ExpressJet, Freedom, Pinnacle, Shuttle America and Skywest is free of charge with taxes fees and charges collected on international flights only, effective May 6th 2008."

They can fly on us and DL (vv) but not Pinnacle employees...looks like the ol' ZED fare will be coming handy!

Hmmm. Shows you how often I travel, I suppose!

Thanks for the info.

I guess I'm the only person that doesn't consider it a perk?
I haven't flown in 6 years. Quite frankly I don't find it worth it.

From a DAL Q&A

Hi Ed thanks for taking the time to chat. I am a little confused on how we can start having reciprocal pass benefits if the merger hasn't even received the antitrust approval yet. Can you enlighten me? And when do you expect us to receive the DOJ approval? I've heard that it is a very lengthy process.

Ed Bastian (Apr 25, 2008 2:55:53 PM)
Reciprocal pass benefits do not require anti-trust approval. With the announcement, we became engaged and we thought it would be a good idea to have enhanced benefits for both employee groups. When the transaction closes, and we get married, all people will come under the Delta pass policy.

Looks like the DL pass policy will be policy.

Nope, I'm right there with you....

I honestly can't remember the last time I flew on a "regular pass." I've used my SkyTeam positive space tickets, and a couple of 3A's, but that's it in the last 5 years or so.
