Nigerian Arrested At Charlotte Airport For Suspicious Activity
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Even before last Friday's US Airways flight from Frankfurt touched down, customs agents had flagged a possible problem. A Nigerian passenger named Chuka Anagbogu bought his ticket with cash only four days before the flight.
Anagbogu's name was on a computer watch list when a customs agent noticed he appeared apprehensive.
The agent directed him to another customs agent who started looking in his belongings and found a white metal box cutter, and an open razor with five extra blades.
That was enough to arrest him.
Two days later, agents spoke with Anagbogu again and he told them that he was going to visit family in Maryland, but agents found that the address he gave them was completely fictitious.
By then, Anagbogu had stopped talking and was demanding an attorney.
