New Service - HPN-CLT

This used to be an F100 market back in the mid 90's I believe. As was ISP-CLT. One time we had Cliff Robertson on board from ISP-CLT. A true gentleman and an airplane enthusiast of the highest order!

It's worth noting that PIT-HPN service ends at the same time the CLT service starts

I remember when USAirways used to serve PIT....that was back in the old days when I was a youngster. Why heck, back then we had to WALK to school, up hill, both ways, in snow up to our knees...yep, those were the days.

HPN is slot-restricted, so US needs the PIT slots to start the CLT service.

Of course, just a year ago, AirTran snapped up like 5 roundtrips worth of HPN slots in the Independence Air bankruptcy for absolute peanuts, while Tempe sat around with their thumbs up their rear ends.

I don't know for sure if this is still good but when I worked at Air Florida we flew 737-200 (I think 3 rt each day) between HPN DCA. We made a killing as these flights were all business.
I wish they would look at this option.

Pretty much everything that was an F-100 market, is now an RJ circus...Along with every market that was a DC-9 market, and a 737-200 Market, and so on...I'm sure you get the idea....It's all RJ's now, and don't think that if they couldn't get them to fly Transcons and Transatlantic that they wouldn't do that too...

Three roundtrips already on US in HPN-DCA. No need for more capacity. The three roundtrips there aren't full by a long shot.

Well that's no big shock. ;) At what US is charging for the PIT-HPN flights there is no way US was getting people to fly this route. I am working in New Rochelle this week. To fly PIT-HPN was going to cost $1200+ while the PIT-LGA was under $300.

Which one do you think I took? And got my FC seat coming and going.

That is a long way for the crj200 watch out for those weather days with an alternant. Well all infants are grantee a seat without paying this should help out the weight issue

Why? Southwest doesn't fly to CLT.

True, but they will keep the fares down for routes to Florida, which means US would have to undercut WN to entice people to fly ISP-CLT-FLL/TPA/etc vs ISP-FLL/TPA/etc n/s on WN. Of course, US would have more connecting opportunites in CLT than just Florida, but I imagine that Florida accounts for a big portion of the traffic from ISP. Plus, we can route them through PHL.
