New Jobs To Pitts. Airport

How long before you see the IAM trying to get Timco to go union,Hummm.
Ha! that would be like trying to get a catholic person to turn jewish. I will also add a disclaimer that I did not intend to offend anyone with that comment.

Could be an opportunity for some work for furloughed mechanics or some just wanting to stay in PIT if things move. What do you think about the opportunity dell? It may eventually be overhaul work on our own engines that these guys do.

i have a sneaking suspicion it may be the only work at PIT over the horizon.many who were chastized for leaving may have done the right thing after all.
notice the part in there about on wing support??it won't be on the ramp....hangars are in the package too obviously...which ones??
remember all the hoopa from days gone by of PIT becoming an engine maintenance base....duh. ;)

Well then, based on your assumtions, my question broadens. Do you think Timco will have a hard time filling their manpower requests in PIT? Let's say 200 in the FAB and another couple hundred "someplace else". Is it out of line for ex-U mechaincs to work at at a non-union facility after all the criticism about how they operate?

i personally know several in FAB this moment who have applied and will leave U for the opportunity.(out of a certainty in their heart U is done in PIT)
i think TIMCO has already been swamped with app's.
many ex-U now work in non-union facilities....feeding the family is a higher priority to some than unionism.besides one can work in a non-union shop and still be a die hard trade unionist at heart.

Very well said. Maybe even more examples of good leaders out there just waiting to show what good managers they could be?

Gee, where do I sign up to make chump change? Pathetic how many guys at Airways in PIT don't even have a resume or know how to do one.

you infer chump change....but very soon your chump change may be the only change to be made at PIT.

Just have them PM me. I will give them some pointers. It won't be too uncommon to have a resume with the last twenty years being here at U. How hard could that be? I have also been known for giving out some good letters of reference as well. Glad to help the good workers.
