A friend I'm flying with today worked the plane the other day and had good things to say about it. The a/c #643 has all leather seats, rounded front overhead compartment allowing "ALL" rollerboards to go in wheels first and close easily. The galley in the back has an extra section where the last row of seats would be on a/c right. It holds all the ice in atlas drawers. He said it was really nice and the video system was a lot like the airbus system on the east. The 2L door area with no lav was really strange he said.

ATA was in the process of adding f/c to their a/c. Not sure if they went through with it or not. Could have been ATA or Air Horizons that installed the f/c seats. There are 8 but the entire a/c is leather.

Is it true that all 3 A/C have completely different galley configurations? 2 of them are similar and will accomodate the carts and oven racks we currently use, but one of them is not compatable with any of our equipment such as carts, trays, and oven inserts. I hear they are going to put Service Specialist on the flights for the first 2 weeks of June.....should be interesting after that since nobody really flies the same trip regularly. Does anybody know where they located the crew rest seats and if they installed a curtain?

They were having difficulty installing a curtain for the crew rest seats as I did read from one of the union publications. The crew rest seats are 32 DEF. There are 33 rows. Row 33 has no DEF seats. This is an extension of the galley where all of the ice etc is housed. In the Union publication it states that only a/c 642 has a different galley configuration than 643 and 644. It states that only the forward galley is different. When I had dining and cabin services on my flight a few weeks back they did give a heads up and let us know that the super heavy and pain in the rear beverage cart on our current east 757's will be replaced with the regular grey bev/meal carts as used on the airbus. Should make it MUCH easier to move that thing around without those huge baskets on the ends and giant white bags of ice. Will be able to hold more cans when out in the aisle doing the service.
