Why would the Government want to buy used 737's when the taxpayers can buy them brand new ones B) ? Any airlines old 737's would be considered JUNK by the US NAVY!!! So don't worry USAIR will get to keep those ratty old 737's till they get repossed OK!

Actually, I have a highly placed source in the Pentagon that suggests this is fact a real possibility. Seems as if they are running out of "live fire" targets and are considering making all of the 737's Drone Aircraft for missile targets.

However, they can not afford to install sophisticated remote control systems, so USAirway's ALPA has offered Jets for Jobs positions to crew these aircraft. Additional egress training will be provided to the crews to enhance their survivability.
