Just received a corrected W-2 form for MidAtlantic, naturally I already filed and now have to file an amended return.

grrrrrrrrr

Did anybody else receive a corrected W-2?

Yep. I'm not going to bother filing an amended return because boxes (1) Wages, tips and other comp. and (2) Federal Income tax withheld are identical on the original and corrected W-2s. The few differences in the W-2s are that the original W-2 has a few more dollars in contributions going to Social security tax withheld & Medicare tax withheld. I really don't think an amended Tax Filing is necessary. You might want to check your (2) W-2s to see if yours are similar to mine before you file an amended return.

The SSO - you gotta love 'em.

I think everyone got one. The SSO have no clue! I never could figure out why they were even the ones dealing with us....since it is a USAIRWAYS tax ID number and USAIRWAYS paid us.

My wages are lower on the revised one and my refund bigger.

To anyone that this effects....Please contact AFA and press the company to pay for your ammended return fees. This is dictated by law and the company dropped the ball. AFA should be all over this....but they seem to be in a deep sleep right now. Wake them the &%#^ up!

They are in a dep sleep when it comes to anything MAA. Nobody gave a crap about us before..during and now after MAA.

A few calls to the IRS will fix that. MAA was still USAirways Group. Make them responsible for once! This is the law.

Oh yeah..they are gonna be responsible alright. When they lose the lawsuit and all the MAA f/a are laughing all the way to the bank.

Both AFA and the company change the subject immediatly when you mention the "M" word. AFA was happy to take our monthly dues to mainline AFA but when you needed something they acted like you didn't work for the company and couldn't inderstand why you were calling them.

It is somewhat true that both sides (The Company & AFA) like to distance themselves from MidAtlantic. It's no longer an entity, so it's easier to ignore and, quite frankly, both sides are embarrassed that it never became what they signed-on for it to be - a separate division. That awkwardness, in turn, created a F/A group that needed to shout to be heard. And, the more the F/As shouted, the more the Company and AFA retreated. Say what you will about the diminished position that your MECP held, and I'm no fan of hers, but she found a way to be heard - she went "nuclear" over anything, whether it was small or large. It wasn't a "long haul" approach, but she ruffled feathers and got attention immediately.

I don't want to turn this thread into a forum to bash or defend your former MECP and I debated even posting this for fear that it would. I'm merely suggesting what worked in getting attention when it comes to MAA.
