Miami Bid Sheet, Yikes Who Dreams This Crap Up

Thats great to have had a company committed to work together. We have had commitees and focus groups, to try to work things out. Like with most everything. Its a AA one sided affair where we can talk till we are as blue as smurfs and AA will do as they choose.

Is there a forum for input from the F/As to the management about the bids? That was one thing TWA had that was well liked. The company was limited in what they could change due to cost considerations but they worked hard with F/A input to set up lines that pleased comuters - back to back europe for instance - and locals who wanted to be home - SJU turns. It worked pretty well. Same with the pilots.

For AA pure bids would be most popular. Same days same trip MAD tue-thurs. Bid services and TT abound and works better for those who want to gain and lose or just move something here or there.

Its great TW made the effort. Its likely it paid off it countless ways not measured in pure dollars. An employees happieness could translate in to greater out put and good will to customers maybe even fewer sick calls, with a greater quality of life and working conditions. AA will never know, they will never make the smallest effort to do just that.

Well, Mikey, it wasn't a gift. It was participative management, paid for by innovative thinking and workrules. Sadly, Sherry Cooper tried to bring this type of thinking to the APFA table but was constantly shut out. Enjoy your lines.

No, thank you for snide one sided reply. Like AA has for years been trying to get flight attendant input about building schedules and we just were not interested, in building a better working enviorment. How wrong you are.

 As YOU people told us from the very start..." Be lucky you have a job."

If your pathetic Union would had listened to us, perhaps your dispicaple <sp?> workrules would not be what they are today. APFA truly thought that 8hrs rest was behind the door. Please.....we at TW were quire aware of what the min. were.

I really do not care about your poor bid package and your sob stories. We have over 6,000 f/a's on furlough that would just be happy to fly you crappy trips. Please do not come here and rub it in our faces.

A: You have a job...gotta luv it. Be grateful as you told the TWA f/a's.
B: You have insurance.
C: You are not paying COBRA.
D: You are not looking for a job. If you hate it ...QUIT.
E: You have unlimited passes.
F: John Ward is your <dictator>...ummm Saviour and your vote was really counted.
G: You guy's and gal's are NOT a UNION. You are perhaps an orgainization. APFA has destroyed 40 years of what f/a's have been fighing for. APFA has demonstrated to NW,UA,US, how to bring a union to it's knees. Thank you APFA for all that you have NOT done.

I agree Galley and no I am not TWA, I am a Naative!, and furloughed. Enjoy your jobs and stop complaining... You voted for it . Now Live with it!!!

...am I the only one here that feels as if the dam is about to burst?
...one can only take so much....I fear for whats in store at LAX dom for OCT...think I will take the night off and look at it tommorow...why ruin a perfectly beautiful southern california evening...
hang in there.......................
my sympathy to all who are out on furlough..really....If reading this type of buzz about the airline bothers you that much-I suggest you log on to another site...no offense..

You know, I truly think that if AA just would have given us our super seniority in STL with furlough protection at least until we chose to jump the fence...we would have maintained full employment for the TWA'rs No transfers in and no transfers out until a base opened and the STL f/a's were trained and the last native was recalled. I think that would be fair.

But NO, we were stapled and kicked out of our base. No regrets from the Union or the company. A TRUE UNION cares. APFA does not and the proof is in the pudding.

A true union takes care and negotiates for its dues paying members, not for those in some company being purchased out of bankruptcy.

I am sure you would feel it fair if we were sent to the street while you enjoyed the fruits of our labor.

Thats not how we do it at AA, and its not how things work at SWA either.

Oh Mikey, Get a new argument. There are several counts of DFR pending against APFA since they started taking our dues dollars where they they did not represent us and you know it. Try again.

And BTW, It doesn't sound like you are enjoying the "fruits of your labors" at all...

I think its your rose colored TWA glasses. APFA has no responsability to negotiate seniority for you prior to your arrival. Well I didn't bring up the lawsuits and your drama you did!

I will do just fine next month. I just may hold Madrid purser on the 737.

Mikey, I never said APFA had a responsibility to negotiate anything for me prior to my arrival. However, they did have have a responsibility to negotiate with my representative. But that is here nor there, and WILL be settled in court. I do, however, suggest reading comprehension 101.

Oh Mikey. Nothing personal and I do like your posts, but I was a dues paying member to APFA and had a VERY difficult time aquiring any information or representation and still do as a furloughed member in good standing.

I just feel that we should have been left alone in STL when a SOLID fence and yes, with furlough protection. Mikey, I don't know how many times we are going to tell you and the other natives....we were not in BK. Don Cart ASS and Bill CompASS put TWA in BK to rid themselves of the Icahn agreement This was reagarding the Karabu agreement. Trust me and the bankers, we had enough funds to sustain us. Also Boeing was waiting to pick us up as wll. This is all documented.

Please...we were not Eastern or Braniff Pan AM.......WE DID NOT NOR INTENDED TO CEASE OPERATION. We had bankers and investors on the sidelines. Believe me they were NOT going to let TWA go down the tubes. Yes, we had leasehold debt and we also had cash in the bank. Our creditiors were NOT calling for chapt 11 or 7.

AA asked us to mirror your contract which did not have a SCOPE clause until after our debacle....how convienient for you guy's. It did NOT exist. Now you have SCOPE. God forbid that another airline buy's AA and your itty bitty Union will have no clout in fighting where you will be placed on the senioirty list. Scream not fair!!! and you will get put where you belong. Our brothers and sisters at UA,SW,US think that you treated us like dreck.

Keep your precious senioity and the worst work rules in the industry and I will watch this play out as you eat each other alive with disunity.
