Which is why if the company INSIST upon bring involuntary vurloughs back at a ridiculous payscale...topping out at $26 an hour, I will vote NO!! Some of AFA members are looking after the junior ones. How about you, usfliboy?

CaptainBoomer and all,

I voted to continue the funding and I too am disappointed.

I do have a question: Does the IAM, CWA, AFA, or any other entity cover medical for furloughed employees?

Just wondering....

Read the code a phone. The U pilots are turning their backs on the furloughed guys! No to the furlough insurance plan!

I am furloughed U and have never had to use the "plan", however it was quite comforting to know it was there if I ever needed it.

Disgusted is too tame a word!

UYH

The f/a's do not. Between the 28% worth of cuts straight across, and the 60-70% cut reserves have taken...thanks to concessionsII, we do not have that kind of extra cash. You must remember that MANY of our reserves. many who have 12-15 years senority, will be lucky if they make 20K this year. :( We have over 5000 involuntary and voluntary furloughs. That would be too much hardship.

I respect your viewpoint but disagree. We all should share the pain. I have taken a paycut worth more than two times your pay, its not like I cannot relate.

I have kids, a wife, a house payment, and like all of us I have had to make adjustments, do without, refi, etc.

I do not believe that it is in our best interest to let someone else start at a C scale. I didn't like in 1986, I do not think its right now.

Once again, I RESPECT YOUR VIEWPOINT ON THIS, please do not mis understand that, we all all strong feelings about many things now-a-days. I the in the majority of AFA, ALPA, CWA, or IAM members will have their way, as a voting body should.

Hang in there I hope all our situations improve with time!

See you are adjusting to it, but the majority of the workers are choosing between putting food on their table or paying the bills.

Big difference between making six-figures and taking a paycut and still maintaining a six-figure income then making $20,000 to $50,000 and taking a paycut.

And your remark about taking a paycut bigger then what most people earn is proof enough and sounds arrogant to me.

This is the mentality of management from the frontline up to the offices in CCY. Absolutly no concern or respect for labor....only themselves. This is only one of the MANY reasons most employees are fed up with this company and having their pockets picked.

You mean the AutoPilot did most of it.

This is what I mean by non sensical. I have no idea what 'auto pilot' has to do with labor markets.

What does P-Bob's turd hearse comment have to do with labor markets ?
It appears that he has lost all credibility and has now added his name to the "arrogant name calling idiots" list.

I don't think 700 was begrudging UYH 6 digit salary after a big paycut. The point he was making was that the same % cut for someone making much less was even more difficult to cope with and less $ to be able to help out others. Savy

Savy-

I certainly agree withyour point about the regressively painful effect of % pay cuts.
[post="229176"][/post]

And, you haven't seen any ALPA types championing progressivity, either.

I am all for pilots making a bunch of money - the education is expensive, and the stakes are high.

I think mechs are worth their $$, too. The stakes are just as high - see the CO/Concorde story.

And I absolutely resent the equation of agent pay to McDonalds. If Ronald screws up, you get cold fries and short-changed.

If an agent screws up, you get bent birds, over/miss-loaded a/c (Air MidWest, anyone?) improper haz-mat shipments, improper security searches, etc., etc.

Certainly, no one became an agent expecting pilot or mech $$$. But an honorable living? Absolutely. Just like the agents over at WN (Who according to lil' dave, is U's greatest competitor ((I think dave was wrong; it's Palace-think)), except in wages) are doing.
