Mec President Resigns Early

USAirBoyA330,

You know I usually am right on board with you, but I differ in your opinion on this issue.

I find it really hard to believe that the information was "dumped" in her lap. Actually, Teddy never accepted the deal. What did she steal? Integrity? Respect? This is something that others are lacking.

I just don't like the way our MEC and LEC representation has acted as of late. Yes, Terry fought hard for us as did Teddy. That doesn't excuse the fact that what she did is immoral and unprofessional. What else is she capable of? Also, when is a union rep to "write up" another f/a? Isn't that the company's job? There are other issues and things that she has done warranting my view. Terry needs to decide who's side she is on..AFA or company. She also needs to be a bit more professional and ethical.

I am sorry if you don't agree with me, but as Teddy always says...."Agree to Disagree".

This is not our fight, and I am not going to get involved in union politics. That said, however, my only comment has to do with corporate ethics at CCY, or the apparent lack thereof. What bothers me is that this stinks of a company set up. I just hope that all the appropriate measures are taken and that an investigation ensues--let the chips fall where they may. Remember, to most people PERCEPTION is REALITY.

Teddy fought harder for the FA's than ANYONE...and this is the thanks she gets? She and I don't often see eye to eye but she fought for her colleagues--and this is her reward?

Shame on CCY and the shills who appear to have done their dirty work. You reap what you sow.....

OK there--I have spoken my peace....blast away.

My best to you all.....

USAirboy,

Terry could not negotiate her way out of a paper bag. Sorry, it was dumped on her lap by a spinster in CCY. They know she's the right twit to take it and run half cocked like a gun going in all different directions. Just her personality.

She doesn't have the intellect to know when she has been used. If you think working in the Local office will give you some insight, think again.

You lost the greatest President PHL ever had and that was Mollie who fought like hell at the table for specifically reserves.. You think for a second that the senior workforce negotiators at the table had YOUR best interest at heart? God, you guys are just lead again and again down that same path.

Your 42 year service LEC VP is not looking to protect your butts. This is a PSA Club and you are not invited.

It wasn't a "deal". A deal to me is walking away with thousands of dollars while selling the f/as down the toilet. This courtesy by Jerry was not even thought out. It was interline travel that someone could choose to use at age 55. There was no negotiaqte or agreement. The letter states per our conversation; not agreement.

READ.

USAirboy, did you call Teddy about it? Did Terry bother besides the first screaming session on the phone at a meeting like some nut case caught on fire?

Its just spin to get Teddy out to allow the meger PSA negotiators to step up and keep Teddy out. And they have their easy flip/flop man as MEC President.

Good match.

Do any of you even know what is really going on here? The PHL VP had an obligation to bring this to the attention of AFA.

In all likelihood, he/she also violated company policy and the law by doing so.

Laura isn't it amazing that you and TG got this from the company and won't even tell the Fa's who gave it to you? Please get a clue!

Twicebaked,

All we (that means you, too) know is Teddy's "word" that she never accepted the deal. The fact that such a deal was discussed at all is a violation of AFA Constitution and ByLaws as well as federal law.

Even were Teddy the unwilling recipient of such a letter, she is obligated to divulge such a letter to the MEC, at the time it happened. When it gets "discovered", months later, it is too late.

Also, was not Teddy given the opportunity to undo the wrong? Was she not notified that she should give notice to the MEC? It was her refusal to address and publicize such a potential MEC liability that led to this.

So, that was two mistakes, both the result of hubris.

Teddy's escuses and slinging mud are classic symptoms of someone who cannot quite get themselves around the fact that they screwed up.

Sad......

What's an escuses? Did you mean excuses? What I find sad is flight attendants turning of flight attendants. The company won this one. Shame on you guys.

I believe that after Teddy refused the chances to make things right, that the laws obligate an appeal to the next higher authority.

I have yet to see someone expound on this, but, it seems to me that Mr. Glass could be implicated also?

Whoops, must preview. must preview. Yes, I mean, "excuses", sorry.

Now, do you mean, What I find sad is flight attendants turning "in" flight attendants?

It was flight attendant(s) who viewed potential labor law violations, gave the MEC president the chance to repair the situation, and, when basically told to mind their own business, they had to act.

Read the Constitution and Bylaws. Read the applicable labor laws.

Teddy had the chance to go before the MEC and tell whatever story she wanted. She chose to, for all intents and purposes, hide the information, thereby casting a grave cloud over her office.

It is possible that Mr. Glass, and consequently, the company, could also be held to similar standards, so, I'm not so certain about what you mean when you say, "The company won this one."

The company won this one because you guys just lost the most passionate and knowledgable MEC Pres you guys have ever had. Tell me how three people with less than one year's experience as union leaders can possibly know the ins and outs of negotiation to do right by the flight attendants? You guys were foolish and power hungry and unfortunately the entire f/a group is about to pay dearly (literally). I hope there's a recall in at least PHL. Good luck. You guys are really going to need it.

I dont recall ever perry tossing "I was forced to resign letter" out for all to see????? She led the fight to have him ousted. This is a fact! I like teddy and wish her well however thisletter does nothing but inflame exactly the reasons given why she wasnt affective in many ways

You are incorrect. There is absolutely no violation of any US, VA, or PA laws.

In fact, the only laws of the US, VA, or PA that have been violated were the folks at CCY who leaked it and/or the AFA officers who were complicit in making it public.

My advice: the latter folks need a good lawyer. ASAP.

Without Teddy, bendover types like you and yours would be making 25 percent less, with half the benefts, and no VLFRs (which means you would probably not have a job).

Keep it mind, sparky.
