What's going on with the MDA Crews? I haven't heard anything lately, only that it is rumored that 13 MDA people are in the Upgrade Class at Republic!!! Anyone else hear this?
Good Luck to all those at MDA!

If you are in the MDA "department" you are getting laid off.

The a/c sale closed the week of Sept 17th. The next a/c are scheduled to slot out in October at 1 a/c per base for a total of 3 (not sure if it will happen in those proportions).
Voluntary Furlough information papers are being offered to the FA's next week, to get an idea of how many want to stay till the end or how many wants to leave now.
The Company will try not to furlough until January....but no committment to that.
Furloughs are imminent for all MAA Employees. Just a matter of when.

Not quite all the MAA employees will be furloughed. Ramp will be going to over mainline. We're scheduled to bid November 8th. I think customer service is doing the same.

I think there will be amusing news soon. Things are never as they seem. The whole of the aviation industry is curious to see if USAirways will be able to get away with having two classes of employees abetted by folks who were to be in an employee protectorate role. Stay tuned.......

Don't know what this means exactly, but I wish people would bring things to our attention before we all get screwed. We all still have the opportunity to put in transfer papers over to mainline. We just haven't chose to do that because we've been told that we're going over anyhow

I hear ya..imagine what we (the f/a's) are going through right now...we are all being tossed around and do not know what to do. Now we may be called back to mainline but have to go to PHX as a newhire and start all over again at the bottom. Noone tells us nothing. Its all a surprise...I love surprises..but not this kind

Latest rumor is the last class at Republic has been cancelled do to the APL pilots that signed up not showing. the CHQ guys in the class were transferred to Shuttle america.

Looks like the word is getting out to the furloughed guys.

ALL or NONE!!

PS hey BB god bless

Been wondering about plight of MDA employees as well. Believe differing parties have been taking advantage of MDA for various selfish reasons for some time. Hope justice prevails and I will help when see opportunity.

Ran into a " very top level MDA exec. " the other day. Asked him how things were going and then remained silent to the 30 minute horor story of how he has been used up and spit out. Been out of work since early summer. Yup, let go! Also pointed out Mgt excuses about not returning to mainline as I am not permitted to relate.

Just another example for me to log about the " dog eat dog " realities of Usairways Mgt and potential to be lied to.

MDA pilots yesterday filed suites against both ALPA and the company in New York district court, the sum of which seeks damages of an unbelievable sum..... You can expect as summons are delivered, to hear more in the next couple of weeks. Should even a portion of the damages be awarded to the plaintifs, the pilots union will be in financial straits. More to come, but the 300+ very unified MDA pilots have put their money where their mouth is and walked the walk. I don't think any bluffs on the part of the pilots union or for that matter the company will make any difference to this group!

ALL OR NONE

It would be a fine lesson to the " screw you, I've got mine crowd " upper seniority list should MDA prevail. Something as radical as flip flopping the seniority list would be quite funny.
Best of luck!

"Flip-flopping" would never happen, but a "single carrier" filing could. That would cause a merger/reintigration of the MDA pilot list with the mainline list should they continue to claim we are a separate entity within the organization. That would mean #1 at MDA would be dove tailed with #1 AAA and so on down the list right to the last 1999 DOH MDA Captain being slotted in with the last 1986 DOH last "mainline" captain.... Thats not the goal, but should ALPA push the issue, is a viable, legal, and possible remedy under the RLA.
