Can any employees in MCI shed any light on the rumors that are being sent out?

They are moving all the work from AFW and Tulsa to MCI and changing the name to TWA

First time for everything! Here go''es! It seems a fouth line of MD-80 Heavy checks has shown up here at MCI. It''s cought everyone off gaurd! It seems no one know it was comming! Just shows up, cards are out, and they''re scrabeling to find bodies to work it! It''s going to get interesting!!!!

Sorry I didn''t answeer your question, but, what rumors are you referring to? We''ve heard several here! Everything from base closer, to signing of a long term lease with the City! If work is an indication. They''re loading us up with it! But I think a lot of what''s going on is posturing on the part of A.A.! And they are vary good at that!

Here goes,
AA "floats" the rumors that a lot of work will be sent MCI''s way, in an "end around attempt" to somehow "scare"(WITHOUT EVER COMING OUT IN SO MANY WORDS, AND SAYING SO) AMT''s from voting for AMFA.
I mean, would''nt it make sense that AA would try ANYTHING to protect their NEW BEST FRIEND, the TWU ??

That''s true. Two things could be unraveling here. The first is feeding MCI with work will ensure a "no amfa" vote. The secong is allowing those getting laid off in TUL to bump to DFW and AFW regardless of where the junior mechanic is will also ensure a "no amfa vote." The company and the TWU bedfellows once again are working hand in hand to keep us down. I wonder if and when AA shuts down AFW, will LITTLE allow those "pro AMFA AFW workers the same courtesies when bumping.

I was not indicating an AMFA drive anywhere. However since this is about the potential closure of a maintenance base, it would seem that the company is playing the cities against themselves. If MCI were to be selected for closure, then what would the rules be for bumping and if TUL were selected what would then be the rules?

Please... I don''t think that the company would use anything other than cost as the determining factor in deciding to close or keep a particular base.
