I got my pin and lanyard without seeing any video or getting cookies, cake, ice cream, Italian ice, coke, sprite, barbeque, hot dogs, hamburgers, or shrimp cocktail. All I did was go into the office in PHL and they handed them to me. I did get the VERY informative booklet (paid for by our friends at the Coca Cola Company) which made for exciting reading on the jumpseat.

PHX Ramp AM shift boycotted the sandwiches and cookies provided by management leaving said management in a state of shock over the rampers rare act of unity and solidarity. The sandwiches were brought in and, for the most part were left untouched. The PHX negotiator for the IAM Transition discussion, RR, was giving a speech on solidarity and the significance of hot dogs on the ramp, when the PHX Ramp Director barged in the breakroom and told him to "shut up" and "end it". There was a brief argument and RR was then ordered off of the ramp and was escorted upstairs. After that incident, the ramp director gave a speech about the "I Make US Fly" campaign and the managers glowered and encouraged the rampers to eat the sandwiches to no avail.

Sadly, a good number of PM rampers, low in will and character, ate the sandwiches.

On Monday, rumors were circulating that the hot dog party would be boycotted and the ramp supervisors had to contact each ramper under their jurisdiction and had them sign a Letter of Understanding stating that there would be a hot dog party on Tuesday.
