Continental Latest To Implement Pricing Adjustments

JUNE 23, 2004 -- Continental Airlines today lowered one-way coach and first class fares for numerous flights from its three primary hubs, the latest move by a major network carrier to scale back pricing in the face of low-cost competition.

How come they can launch thiers all at once out of thier three hubs, but US has is only doing it on a route by route basis to match LCC competition. Are the costs that much different, or is US just trying to get the oublic to believe they cant offer low fares until the greedy workers give up more pay?
