Jumpseat Question

I'm considering a position in Dayton with j/s authorization and I would need initially to commute out of there. My question is: Does either the 145 or the CRJ-200 have a physical jumpseat? If not, does a j/s bump a higher seniority non-revver?

thanks,
jm

I know the American Eagle EMB RJ's have a physical jumpseat and I am sure the CRJ does. With the new doors it would be impossible to comduct a line check without one.

A jumpseater can and can't bump a non-rev in the back. If that non-rev in the back of the airplane has a hire date that makes him more senior then the J/Ster and there's no Jumpseat in the cockpit. Well then, Jumpseater gets left behind. However if the jumpseater is more senior, he bumps the non-rev out. Remember this is only within our airline (US Airways). So if your a new hire at US Airways, and a 30 year Delta pilot wants the Jumpseat, with nothing in the cockpit (which he can't use right now anyway), you won't get bumped. So for you right now, no worries if its a person from another airline, however much worries if you are trying to get it from a fellow employee. Then within the Contract Carriers and Wholly Owns you have more sub Catagories for the priority of the Jumpseat.

The reality is that if a nonrevenue passenger already is given a seat, you'll almost NEVER get the agent to bump them if you have the jumpseat, no matter what the rule book says. First of all, you won't know that they are a nonrev, second of all, if you raise a stink, you'll not only NOT get on the airplane, you could be in your chief pilot's office before your next trip. I'm telling you this as the voice of experience.....

Thanks for the add'l info. As far as no seat goes, what airframes typically don't have one? I would imagine the following do not have a jumpseat:

Jetstream, the little one
1900
328? does U even have any of these flying?

as far as U's SJ fleet are there any others?

Also, I am sorry for posting so many photos with my messages. I guess I am the one responsible for the reduction in the number of bytes available for a picture.

This is not a big deal. On line, meaning main line or group, if you, in you fist, have the paper work filled out, the C/O says ok, you have a ride. If there is a seat in back, you are welcome to it. Now if my wife is trying to nonrev on the same flight, she gets the seat first, because you have listed for the jump seat, not a seat in back. So eveybody gets to go. If you are an off line pilot, there must be an empty seat in in the back for you. And you go behind all norevs, and all off line employes on a ticket. If you are part of group, and can get to the cockpit before the jet way is pulled, the C/O can put you on the jumpseat without the agent's ok.
Again, only group pilots are allowed on the flight deck jumpseat.
