Come over here and give me a big ole Delta family hug NxNW. :bleh:

Apparently, all hubs will be maintained. Does this make sense? I would think that in the USA they would keep ATL, DTW, MSP, JFK as is - but surely CVG, MEM, SLC would be reduced.

My money says that they keep SLC because of its geographic location. Its the only presence they have outside of LAX west of the Rockies. I would bet on both CVG and MEM being significantly reduced because of their proximity to DTW and ATL.

DTW is a dying/dead city and MEM is too close to ATL. My bet is close MEM and DTW as hubs and keep CVG. Corporate politics...fewer pro-union personnel in CVG.

Fantastic idea considering the population of the metro Detroit area (counting the subburbs) has held steady for about 25 years and the inner downtown is going through a renovation. They just spent how many billions on that new WorldGate terminal at DTW? And they are going to shut it down?! All of their non-stop route authorities to China are routed through DTW.

So the chances of them shutting down DTW are zero, actually they are below zero.

Hey...just speculating. But there is the political side noone spoke of. Money spent on facilities is nothing in the long term.
