Hey,
I heard that we failed our Star Alliance "check" concerning service.
Anybody know if this it true?
It wouldn't suprise me. Wine in a plastic cup....even Jerry Springer guests have more class that US Airways' first class "service".

I would not be suprised one bit. I bet they were in 1st class thinking it was Economy....shameful. I wonder if our new salt a pepper paper packs were on that flight. They are snazzy and instead of just a white packet it's now a blue paper packet with our LOGO. Just a little touch of class.

Do you know how much that little logo costs!!!
I would think Dave would think it cheaper to go to Mickey D's and raid the salt and pepper bin for our first class. :p

FYI, the meal service appears to have improved. I flew PHL-SEA and SEA-PIT last week (after making this trip for almost two years now), and both meals were a step above what I've seen as of late. In fact, the only really bad meal I've had for the past month or so was on a lunch SEA-PIT flight: The soup was served in a styrofroam cup, no bread was offered and the cookie was brought with the meal semi-heated (so by the time you ate it it wasn't really all that good). The F/A said she had just gotten off International and this was the first transcon she had done in years. She was asking one of the other F/As how to handle the meal service.

The only stupid thing that still happens is the wine glasses. Everyone knows you should never serve wine in plastic or styrofoam cups. ;-)

US - LH Codeshare Announcement

ARLINGTON (theHub.com) - US Airways and Lufthansa customers now can enjoy the many benefits of the airlines’ codeshare relationship, with codeshare flights now available for purchase.

US Airways customers initially will be able to codeshare to seven cities, including five new cities in Germany. US Airways first will expand its schedule to include codeshare flights on Lufthansa between Frankfurt and Berlin, Boston, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Philadelphia, Nurnberg and Stuttgart, as well as flights between Munich and Berlin, Dusseldorf and Hamburg.

Lufthansa customers will have codeshare access to 17 U.S. destinations, including 14 new cities on the East Coast. Codeshare flights begin on Oct. 26. Lufthansa will add its code to US Airways flights between Philadelphia and Albany; Baltimore; Elmira; Greensboro; Hartford; Manchester, N.H.; Pittsburgh; Providence; Raleigh/Durham; San Juan; Washington Reagan National; West Palm Beach; White Plains and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Lufthansa will also codeshare on US Airways flights between Pittsburgh and both Frankfurt and Boston, Philadelphia and both Frankfurt and Munich, as well as Charlotte-Frankfurt flights. Codesharing is the use of one airline’s two-letter designator on flights operated by the other airline, with the ease of a single ticket, one-stop check-in and coordinated baggage handing.

Also on Oct. 26, US Airways and Lufthansa will begin their reciprocal frequent flyer relationship. Members of US Airways Dividend Miles and Lufthansa’s Miles & More frequent flyer programs will be able to earn miles, elite bonuses and class of service bonuses as well as attain elite status on qualifying, paid flights on either airline worldwide. Members of each loyalty program will earn actual flight miles or a minimum 500-mile flight credit, as well as a class-of-service bonus for paid travel in First or Business Class. The start date for award reservations and travel will be announced soon.

Additionally, US Airways is offering double Dividend Miles on all paid, qualifying flights on US Airways between the U.S. and Germany, and on Lufthansa flights worldwide. Lufthansa is offering double miles to Miles & More members on the first roundtrip flight on all US Airways flights worldwide. Qualifying travel for both bonuses must be completed between Oct. 26 and Dec. 31, 2003. Members must register with their respective airline before departure at usairways.com/dm/7635 or at lufthansa-usa.com.

Additional customer benefits include reciprocal lounge access. Passengers traveling on Lufthansa in First or Business Class, or Lufthansa Senator members, will be welcomed at US Airways Clubs worldwide. US Airways Envoy Class passengers will have access to Lufthansa Business Lounges worldwide. Eligible passengers will be required to present their same-day Lufthansa or US Airways boarding pass.

That is interesting that no where in the press release does it mention US joining STAR in the neaar future. I think the whole "failed test" thing is a complete rumor, but it is interesting there is no mention of it, nor have I seen anything getting the wheels going with any of the Asian carriers for instance. There are plenty of Asian companies throughout the Southeast (Honda has a location in Florence, SC and NGK is in Mooresville, NC), yet there has been nothing with ANA or any of those carriers.

I asked about the possibility of this happening a few weeks ago and was flamed alive and told our service is on par with all other US carriers.

Bullspit.

"On par with all other US carriers" is the standard CCY bluff when they're doing something really reprehensible to customers (or employees as the case may be).

Service has fallen a long, long, ways. And the lavs are a health hazard. Only someone who hasn't been on a plane lately would think otherwise.

Well, if it is "par" with all other carriers everyone should be ashamed of them selves for this blunder.

Since when is "par" acceptable?
What ever happened to US superior service?
What ever happened to the "Impressions of Excelence"?
We are nothing more than the "Impressions of I don't give a crap"!

Every airline should strive to be better than the rest not up to "PAR" with everyone else.

Dave you have done nothing for this airline except make us look stupid in the eyes of customers.

"FIGURES"

We fail at alot of things....

Like lets fly Rj's into cities that used to carry alot of passengers.
