Is The Strike Hitting The Flights That Hurt?

Unofficially, I'm told the crew knew they had gear up but didn't try to manually drop the doors or the nosegear.

Can you enlighten us as to who told you, and why the crew would not have tried to manually extend the gear?

Thirdhand, it's per Britt Etzold who is the ALPA safety rep at NWA. The crew got an unsafe indicator, ran the abnormal checklist, and somehow got a safe indicator on the FE panel, and determined that they didn't need to do a physical check prior to landing.

NTSB has classified this as an accident due to a resulting fire in the E&E bay, so there will be a full investigation and report.
