What is the interview protocal at AA for the Ticketing Agent or Club Agent position at AA like? How many peoples usually in the interview with you? What kind of questions do they ask you? How long is the new hire training on SABRE? Where do you do all the paperwork, background check? Do DFW or LAX has any opening soon for the Ticketing Agent position?

Don't expect any positions anytime soon anywhere except maybe MIA or JFK, and those will require fluency in a second language.

Club agents are pretty senior positions, so don't even think of that unless you go to work for a vendor who has the food/beverage contract. And that won't give you any travel privileges or other AA benefits whatsoever.

If you pass the background check, training for agents is four weeks in Dallas (two weeks of basic Sabre, plus two weeks of ticketing if the position is dual gates & ticketing). Training used to be unpaid. Not sure anymore if that's still the case.

Get a nice government job with all the benefits, pension, medical, and money.

Reports have it that US Government employees have recieved over 25% increase in pay in past five years. Airline employees haven't seen raises in 7 years ro more.

Later if you play your cards right and get promoted to any government position having an expense account. You can charge all your expenses on your Credit cards with Frequent Flyer miles points and use those points to travel. You get a positive seat and airline employees get a chance on the next flight.

You're right about federal jobs for now, but I think it's just a matter of time before they too will have to follow the lead of state and local governments:

The Feds and the Pentagon will never run out of money as long as there is ink and paper.

As long as people can click on sites likes this http://www.fly.com/, and get rock bottom prices, the downward spiral in the airline industry will continue.

As long as the bankruptcy laws protect the bad airlines, and punish the good ones, our wages and benefits will continue downward also.
