Does anyone know where we get the password to access the transition survey on the IAM 142 website, there is no way to set up an account. Also to the West guys, I spoke with the IAM today and they will have reps out here sometime next week to speak with us. Dont know why it would take so long, would think they would at least be able to be here by the end of this week.

I believe that is an old survey that has been completed all ready.

The survey is old, from several months back. We are hoping a new one will be put out to gauge the true feelings from the old and new members concerning transition talks. That survey is already out of date!

It doesn't matter because you don't get to vote on it anyway.

SO Let Me Understand the Scenario, correctly?Since the Survey is Complete & Has Not Included the {MINORITY WEST MECHANICS}We Loose Because we Did not have Access to the SURVEY. We Have No Representation,No Personel to Administer the IBT contract/Grievance procedure's etc:
We further More Have No {Minority West} Negotiator on the Transition Negotiation's Committee.

Its still early. I would start calling and emailing the IAM district 142 leaders and demand a new survey. But I wouldn't expect anything but DOH into the classification for your mechanics seniority.

We lose because the IAM is going to shove that contract down our throats and we will have to accept it. And we will also lose vacation time, sick time and benefits. The IAM will only take care of the east side mechanics. I am a bit surprised they have not shown their faces here in PHX. I was expecting them to be at the hangar friday night when I got in. But I guess they are showing their true colors.
As long as dues are paid, thats what matters right?

You were going to get the same contract no matter what union was certified. Thats unrealsitic to think that anyone would be prepared to come with a 3 hour notice. Couldnt even get a flight to PHX like that. We have to stick together when the company trys to give us BS during transition talks and start them on an all aluminum diet.

Yeah, the decision was made on the 11th of aug., and now the 15th of aug has passed and no representation. I guess all the flights to PHX were full. Maybe in a couple of weeks we shall see a newsletter or maybe a human IAM rep.

Hey 700

The IAM needs to make contact with all the groups on both sides (east and west) that are represented under the M&R to push their plan in the transition agreement. They should also talk to the non-union class and crafts on the west that will fall under the IAM’s M&R. The IAM now have a lot of work rules and pay scales from the non-union west people that can be negotiated into the transition agreement to make it better.
They really need to do a better job of communicating. In the past the IAM has done a poor job of getting input from and talking to all the class and crafts under the agreement

There are plans to be out in PHX shortly, an announcement will be made.

You people really need to relax, Rome was not built in a day.

I will say it again, Don't tell us to relax!! I guess the IAM will have to understand that we here in the west do not work for the union. The union is supposed to work for us. The union reps need to get here now, ask us what we want and then go get it for us. It will not work if they show up after the fact and then tell us what thay have negotiated. And MR.700, You do not work at US Airways anymore. Anything you have to say, whether it is fact or not, is just your opinion. It seems that anything you have to say just manages to irritate everyone involved. It is time that started to mind your own business!! Cost Neutral Blows!!!

Believe me when I tell you that the survey was a vain attempt to make it seem like you have a voice. Well you don't! It has been this way in the east always. So you missed nothing. The iam is only interested in dues payers. They will do what it takes to keep as many as they can no matter how it effects the membership.
The transition agreement most likely will effect west more than east for the simple reason it will bring west down to east. Besides none of us will have any say in the matter. BTW the negotiating commitee is already set. It will be the same company lap dogs as it has always been.
I did hear from one of the reps that they are going west next week.If thats any help? They will paint a rosey picture but beware of the thorns! The End
