IAM Mech. Thread 9/10-

My representative.... now there is a laugh. Every clown that has come come to our station did not know their A** from a hole in the ground, or they were lying. If the IAM really gave a Damn they would have not supported this last contract. They gave away the farm for their precious positive space flights. Insurance Doubled, 401k match history, restrictive pension plan that I still have no information on, no copy of contract, profit sharing gone, paid sick time cut in half, 4 and 3 schedule going away. 52 more days to drive to work. But the company is complaining about fuel affecting their bottom line but don't give a damn about our making ends meet. And the IAM is shoving sunshine up my A** saying how they care. When are those overpaid, pompous no load, windbags going to take a pay cut. I could live pretty good on what they are getting paid. Six figures to sell us down the river. Look at http://erds.dol-esa.gov/query/org.report.do to see their salary. If you voted for that lame contract shame on you. You really should read the fine print before you vote on something. It is time for the IAM to go.

Take your skirts off and grow a pair!!

Wow !! My Man !!!

Welcome, and thank you for the beautiful words !!

I am sorry to say that Ken Shelton of Winston-Salem
Passed away this Saturday

http://obituaries.journalnow.com/WinstonSa...sonId=117482048

Ken started at Piedmont Airlines in 1949, and retired in 1985
Many people knew him in CLT so I thought I would share this
with anyone who did not know of his passing.

He was one of the first 100 employees of Piedmont Airlines

Please keep his family in your thoughts

Thanks

I've heard "thru the grapevine" that several mechanic jobs in PIT will be abolished and then these positions will be transferred to CLT and PHL.
Can anyone confirm or deny ?

Been hearing same thing about opening up some jobs for Clt, as for Phl, there are always opening and I believe they are starting to interview again. Most in Pit are being told those affected will be "absorbed" at the station? Going to be interesting....

Going back to the union dues increase, still have not seen any official postings or have had any visits from reps to further explain..... Perhaps they are still on the mend from the convention or just afraid to show their faces??

The rumors I been hearing is after the OEI PIT will be skeletized and "old" small west stations will be closed and CLT's headcount will be increased to absorb the rolling heads.

As of the dues...

The approved proposal takes into account the needs expressed by delegates and lodges to keep the current method of calculating the Grand Lodge per capita tax largely intact. To keep the IAM financially strong, delegates approved a one-time increase of $4.00 in the 2009 Grand Lodge per capita tax. Coupled with the normal weighted average estimated increase of 3.02 percent, or 78 cents, the total increase for 2009 is $4.78, or the equivalent of just 2.76 cents per hour.

There will be a normal increase of an estimated 80 cents in 2010. In 2011 there will be a one-time increase of $2.00 in the per capita base rate and then annual increases will be pegged to the Consumer Price Index.

Local Lodges will have the ability to set their own dues rates and collection methods based on their own needs. Also, provisions remain for the International President to grant special dispensations in certain circumstances.

“It doesn’t matter what position you took, your character and strength were outstanding,â€￾ said Buffenbarger. “We are one union of one mind with a common cause of taking care of the brothers and sisters throughout the union.â€￾

Story

Any names to those "old" small west stations? How small do you have to be in order to be considered small or no longer viable? That is a shame....if this turns out to be true I feel for every one of those guys. This 'integration' has left a very bitter taste in a lot of mouths that used to speak highly of the companies they USED to work for.....this "NEW" US Airways is not that much different from all the other versions of the same monster. Close the small stations, force all the work to the few hubs left, force the pax to connect in the ^%$#@! airport on the East Coast withe the worst ATC history and the BEST weather....yeah, that is soooo different from where US Air has been. Good job guys - vote yourself another bonus....maybe you can file another form 8-K that even TOPS the bucket of trash that was filed on April 3rd of 2008....the same day the IAM voted on the T/A.........

trying to confirm a ' rumor ' here, by 'what-if'ing the future ' .......geeeeeez, go have a beer, watch the sunset, or sunrise, go for a walk with your kids and wife, call your mom.......in other words, Forget this place and live your live, for goodness sakes....

barking up the wrong tree here......I forget this place when I leave every day. But every day I come back this crap is still here to deal with.....there is no shortage of what if's....all over the system, even in your pretty little world.

Old news on Pit. Line is going to the gate on day light and afternoons. Midnights will still exist. All ,EXCEPT for the 4 leads who can't hold Pit on their mechanic time, will move into the great new work pool called heavy mtc. 40 some mechanics. No big move to Clt.

Go have a beer and relax, it's a station realinement. Read your contract and go to the meetings and get the story as known by your reps. <_<

Thanks for the info OG, was kind of wondering about those leads, figured they would be hidden somewhere so they did not have to leave the station. Guess to many people watching for the old "sweetheart deal".

What is going to happen to the 4 leads?

Since OEI is upon you do you know how the bids and awards will be formatted starting next week?
