IAM Election

IMO do to the enormous size of UAL the percentages would call for more seats to go to UAL . To answer your question 6 postions for US.
Thanks for the information. I was thinking with the merge of HP that US Fleet was a larger classification.

student,
"Thanks for the information. I was thinking with the merge of HP that US Fleet was a larger classification."

we were until Randy Canale allowed the company to rape us through BK1 and BK2 .

One could look at it as what it takes to stay afloat. Many other airlines never made it past the BK gig. Has the new direction stated what changes they want to make or what direction they want to go?

A greeting from THE NEW DIRECTION team's Rich Delaney,

We will enjoy coming for Boss Canale....soon enough.

Also, don't forget about the article about how Labor has the leverage in the airlines now, click here

RE The Unionist
It was brought to my attention that CID, a former UAL station had
manpower issues this past week because of the sub Zero weather. Needless to say the
contractors that handle the station called in sick and could not
maintain the operation. A call was placed to Chicago for help.
Manpower was flown in from Chicago to handle the operation.
CID was shut sometime around 2003 and approx 28-30 IAMAW members were
furloughed. Some retired but most scattered around the system. DSM
now has 4 furloghed CID IAMAW members working and holding on waiting
for the day that CID reopens. They continue to commute 90 miles from
CID to DSM to make a living for their families.
Ironically, 3 of the 4 IAMAW members that were furloughed from CID
were home on RDO's in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
that day. The report I recieved was 2 ORD CSR's and 2 ORD
Management flew in and participated in the operation. A former DSM
Shop Steward, who now works for the CID Airport went down
and saw for himself and reported back to us that this was in fact
true.
I want to thank the Chicago Ramp Committeewhich has a NEW DIRECTION candidate as its chairman for backing up our
furloughed brothers and sisters by not sending help and letting the contractor fail on its
own.

On the other hand shame on the PCE committee person, who is running for AGC with Canoli and telling everyone who'll listen that she is a true unionist, for allowing her people
to work jobs that were taken away from our members and contracted out.
This needs to be talked about everywhere. This is Randy Canale and his team at their very best. What did Tilton promise these two this time for showing your true UNION COLORS??

Thanks for the info. This is internal rumblings from chicago. This has been going on for almost 10 years since the public contact employees voted in the union. It appears the ramp and cs are trying to be divided in that city.

Don't blame the 'city', blame the Union and the employees.

update for our UA brothers / sisters

the t/a agreement Randy proposed was basically nothing more than the original T/A that over 75% voted down on juice was 1 more week vac and a 20.00 topout rate

the rest was B/S.. it's time for Randy to go away for good...

vote NEW DIRECTION in 08 Go Delaney

Many other airlines never made it past the BK gig.

Since 2001 how many didnt make it?

Seems to me that there were a whole lot of BK filings but not too many liquidations. Where things as bad as they claimed or was BK simply a tool used to screw the workers?

I think the latter.

IMO I think things were bad, but the companies greatly took advantage of the situation. They got deeper cuts than needed. As far as liquidations, I was involved in one. One is more than enough. Since 2001, not sure what to categorize TWA.
