I recently read that over the last 4 years the IAM has lost nearly 25% of their membership. Guess which union has the most ex-IAM members? No, not AMFA, who got all their members through elections, but the TWU who didnt get any through elections. The TWU took IAM members by giving the companys where the TWU has members much lower labor costs. When the companies failed or were taken over by the company where the TWU was the TWU got more members!
