HP a new airline?

Not long ago, I would have gone out of my way to avoid flying with HP. Since Doug Parker became CEO, my perception of HP has taken a 180-degree turn, to the point where you have become my airline of choice* from PHX.

The first change at HP that caused me to give you a second chance was the fair fares -- and standing firm when your competitors went ballistic (in their knee-jerk, reactionary stupidity) to try to dissuade you from your huge step in the right direction.

When I recently flew with HP again for the first time in 4 years, I found what seemed to be a whole new -- vastly improved -- attitude among your frontline staff. My wife has flown with HP about once monthly over the past 7 months and consistently reports the same.

So... are the good things we now have to say about HP about luck or coincidence (being helped by staff with great attitudes and on-time flights) ...or is HP the new airline it seems to have become since my very different experiences of 4+ years ago?

*I must confess that I may choose WN over HP on the rare occasions when my destination allows such a choice.

Thank you so much for your comments. I am a new hire at HP, but worked for another airline for quite a long time. The atmosphere here is much better and is more agent friendly so it carries over to the customers. I thought I''d never ever return to a job in reservations, but the atmosphere is such and the computer system and perks for customers are so much better, that I actually love my job. Get to Elite as fast as you can--this airline is much nicer and easier to use than other airlines--especially for upgrades for Elite customers. Don''t forget if there''s a first class seat left when you check in and you''re not Elite you can still pay a very low price to upgrade anyway. Anyway, keep flying HP and you''ll get all of the customer service you ever needed and never got at other airlines.

Actually its because Southwest flies the route now at a much lower rate, so more fliers, less profit.
