At last count (and it has been awhile) there was over 1200...this is quite a lot more than the 880 that they said that they were going to run their operation with....all of the so-called mechanics and support techs are either in msp or dtw...keep in mind that the managers also do a lot of the mechanic work also...several months ago they tried to hire managers to several of the out stations for this purpose....if you go to AMFA Local 33 page, the seniority list is posted there....How many AMT's are currently directly employed at NW? Where are they based? Which stations are currently contract stations and how many guys are in that pool?

JMO, if you had any ballz you'd shet can the contractors and demand the return of the honorable on lay-off. It could work both ways, you guys may find yourselves working for the contractors. After all, airlines are in business to fly airplanes not to maintain them. At least thats the NW motto. hmmm sometimes unions are worth having for this very reason.Only 1200. That would give a combined total of roughly 5500 AMT. I doubt a union vote would pass, even with 1200 yes from NW. Senority cold be pretty much a non issue if no stations are closed. In fact the two groups would pretty much not interact. The big if for us in my eyes is what happens in CVG? If that station gets downsized because flying is shifted to DTW, a bunch of DL guys will hit the street. In the past RIF events very few from there opted to move.
The other question is outstations that NW now staffs with contract employees. Here in BOS they are staffed by Swissport. Do we just take over the operation and show Swissport the door? In our current state I doubt we could absorb the workload. It will get very interesting.
Got that right! Here's a bit of a read...who's gonna be top dog?JMO, if you had any ballz you'd shet can the contractors and demand the return of the honorable on lay-off. You guys are starting to raise interesting/unsettling(albeit) Necessary questions about DL/NW
Where both side's NEED TO BE -VERY- Vigilant, is to NOT allow Steenland to throw Swissport rampers into the mix, and NOT let Anderson throw DGL(delta global "whatever") into the mix.
you would never get a hundred "yes" votes from this bunch let alone 1200....and that number is prob a couple years old...you can go to local 33's site and pull up the seniority list and also go to exnwa.com and pull up their list of scabs...by comparing the two, you will get a good idea of how many have been recalled and how many are 'outhouse' and 'inhouse' scabs...like ualtech said, 10% is a good number of honorable but it is prob less than that...Only 1200. That would give a combined total of roughly 5500 AMT. I doubt a union vote would pass, even with 1200 yes from NW. Senority cold be pretty much a non issue if no stations are closed.
