He Said What?

And real Union Leaders would speak this fact to the membership instead of hiding in the grievance office or taking two hour lunches which we also have to cover the cost of enduring.

$2.1 Million os the dollar figure AA has placed on paid union business time.
Are you willing to continue to subsidize this with more concessions?
No real choice.

One thing about control. On 1D, there are those attached to our roster on special assignment. Union business, training and warranty, yet there no push to have these 5/8 dayshift jobs placed on the 24/7 schedule.

Had this been anyone else replying I would probably respond differently.

I do not know if there are any internal conflicts with AAR or Aviall.
If you are referencing hangar 1 or hangar 1D in TUL, the only real conflict is on 1D against those very items. The constant indecision by management as to what the work schedule is going to be and the insistence of 7 day coverage on only one dock when those supporting the check, engineering, support shops, toolroom and stores are M-F 8 hrs a day and mostly dayshift.

As for the mechanics, they are scared and frustrated and low in seniority, as management tactics ran off the original crew.

At this time I do not believe that there is any kind work safe program
The union would not support such an act. I believe that a wage war is the last thing they are concerned with. But the crews are not happy.

Exactly to a Tee what has happened at AFW,.....specially the part about management tactics getting rid of the original crews.....whats mostly left on the docks now are low senority upgrades, or TWA guys......we ran 7 day coverage.....it was a disaster from the start as none of the supporting shops worked seven days......piss poor management......

So 1D TUL is not the only ones being force to be a line station. The company is managing maintenance into the ground and the TWU is comfortable with what their partners are doing. Now that the revenue stream to the international is going to be reduced, the union is starting to move. Daily I hear from the membership that the restrictions placed in the contract over work rules that would allow single docks to overcome the places they are struggling. The early days of unionism applied to the industry today are going drive any form of unionism off the property. If we as a work force cannot adjust as a whole, then there is no need for any of us to change, however the way of doing the business of commercial aviation will continue without us.

What is going to drive any form of unionism off the property is overseas workers willing to do your job faster, for any hours, and any days off, while working for pay that affords not more than eating fish heads and rice for dinner every night of the week. Combine that with a Government Of the Money, By the Money, and For the Money, while your Union still believes that arena is our saving grace, well just simply add that up for the sum.

AA was offering you the chance via attrition to keep what you had. We said HELL NO

So now those that were willing to offer that are gone, and the hatchet man has come to town.

So let me get this straight your pissed at bob for the vote no video. And your pissed because the intl inserted vote yes propaganda. So did you vote maybe?

I am curious as to how long you have worked for the TWU?

I think its time you guys get used to the fact your going to be working weekends either in tul or a line station you bump to on if you have the time. Btw working weekends doesn't mean you have f/s and s/m off you will prob have t/W, m/t,w/t,t/f and whatever other combination of days off there is!

Let me see, this Sunday I am at work and I do not have a second job.
That must mean it is part of the weekend.

Since I going to be held to your definition of a schedule the company put in place and the membership approved ( its called the 1/7th rule and the majority voted for it) it is just like the last T/A, Seems that the issue that you are jealous of, could be countered with a line premium and or some GEO pay, however it appears that the no votes prevail and now everyone can work your definition of 7 day coverage and rotating days off, therefore a line premium is uncalled for.

look at it this way, when there is seven day coverage you can do like the line and dbl,dbl single and be off for 4 days. that's if management lets you. might as well "fight like hell" for it since that would be the only perk you could possibly get out of all this bs.

I believe all the CS's are gone on the term sheets?

My point is that I am working 7 day coverage and management doesn't even know how the schedule is going to run next week.

looking at the term sheet, really didn't see anything in there about that. who knows probably will

As I am on my phone, I cannot seem to download a PDF.

I thought it was on the mechanic term sheet as a reference to the line.
