Happy Good Friday

bob, i agree on most of what you say but clearly it matters not who presides in the oval office when it comes to big buissness and politics, did clinton not also use a presidential order and prevent AA pilots from striking.... dont get me wrong i see demicans and republicrats and a slow demise of the middle class of this nation because of both parties failed policies. i was using the example of standing against tyranny which has already run amok in the big buissness sector of this country. as far as "daddys shotgun" yea i have several and if a tyrannical government ran amok and clearly tried to steal my freedom i and millions alike would defend this freedom just as was done 228 years ago.

If you support AMFA you support 50% of us havig 365 non paid holidays a year. Thanks for not sacrificing 8,000 jobs or more TWU.

That threat is getting tired.

How many jobs have been lost, and are continueing to dissappear with each retirement and resignation Jim?

How many of our older workers are being forced to retire early, after puting in 30 years or better because the longer they stay, the less they will get from their pension? So not only are the youngest, who can more easily find re-employment getting affected, but our oldest workers are being forced out to an early, and to a permanently lower retirement. Its too late for these guys to start anew, they are screwed for the rest of their lives. It is disgraceful when the union screws over long time members who have little opportunity to recover. Compare what a retiring NWA worker will get from his pension to a retiring AA worker in four years.

So in the end, betwen the layoffs and attrition the company will get the reduction in headcount that the negotiating committee proposed- plus all the concessions, this will mean that they will realize double the savings they advertized.

Grat job TWU. Instead of having the youngest take a temporary hit, until the economy recovers, we all took a permanant hit, especially our older workers.

jim clearly you dont have a clue, lets look at southwest who booted the teamsters in favor of AMFA shall we! they are not only bringing more work in house but are currenently HIRING not LAYING OFF, they contracted out more work than any carrier except UPS who by the way is represented by none other than the TEAMSTER'S, you know one of those powerful afl-cio affiliated unions. united contract was burnt to the ground before AMFA got onboard, and northwest used force majure to get around their contract, but even still mechanics are being brought back......do tell us twu jim how many mechanics have been recalled at AA? never mind we know the answer to that one. the difference is AMFA FIGHTS FOR THE MECHANICS and the TWU FIGHTS FOR THE COMPANY!

AMFA FIGHTS FOR THE MECHANICS

Yeh right.......maybe the ones in Singapore!!!!!

How many heavy C's has Southwest done recently. And what happened to United would be better off in bankruptcy ask their retirees who now pay $795 per month for retiree medical insurance. And how about Northwest's 50% layoff those guy's feel really fortunate I'm shure. AMFA has done nothing to address these problems. Now talking about work how about the 737 wheel & brake work being brought to Tulsa. I also here that Northwest has been looking at Tulsa AA to do some of their work.

Just a note, since amfa has taken over at SW, they lost the first arbitration case on the lunch period and have increased the head count by 90 members! The majority have lost complete trust in Amfa and now is in a constant battle! Along with this, has voted not to allow other airlines in some of their locals!!! Solidarity is non-existance!

So Amfa has lost 2000 MEMBERS SINCE THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER AT SWA!!! If you count all the airlines they have a presence at!!! So who is winning?

Actually it was the IAM at United that advocated no concessions. Why would you lie about this Twu Jim???

Cio, do you suppose the Lunch period case was lost because two X-teamster officers said they had told the membership that the Teamsters negotiated contract excluded paid lunches to the arbitrator???

And so what is the current TWU card count at SWA?

What is the basis of your claim "the majority have lost trust"? Was there a vote taken? Where are the results of this vote?

Or this another one of your wishful thinking brain farts?

How come it is always someone else's fault and not AMFA's the Teamster officers did it, it was the IAM's idea for no concessions. Why don't you take credit for what you say insted of trying to pass the buck always.
