That's not what he asked, either.

Typical dodge we all come to expect from you when you don't like where the conversation is going.

And that is what?

How is a law going to eliminate evil that men do?

This guy obviously felt to consequence of his actions.

How is another law going to make him feel that?

... Says the woman that can't answer a simple query...

Wasn't me that was asked if I thought new laws would help.

but then you say....

So what is it Kev? (beside a snappy slogan or hashtag campaign).

Same roster of ideas I post every time there's a massacre of our fellow citizens.

We can start with moving off the myth that since a law is never 100% preventative that the solution is no laws at all...

So, you want more effective legislation or none at all?

So more feel good legislation that's already on the books or does nothing at all.

In this case the girlfriend bought the guns legally, no fictitious "gun show loophole" and gave them to a known felon which is against the law.

So what new law would have prevented this woman from doing something illegal?

What are these "roster of ideas" that would prevent evil from prevailing?

So it should just be a damn free for all, then? Is that your answer to Dog Wonder's question?

You should know my thoughts on gun laws; I get to post them with a sad regularity anymore, and you never miss a chance to try and mock them.

My answer to wondermutts question was rhetorical.

So then your answer is more feel good legislation and spiffy hashtag campaigns?

How is that going to reduce/eliminate the evil in men's hearts?

Theres hundreds, if not thousands of laws on the books regarding obtaining and possessing a forearm.

What specific new law would have stopped the girlfriend from giving the gun to a known felon, and that same felon using it to kill someone?

Your answer might've been rhetorical, but your stance that since laws are not 100% perfect, we should just give up isn't going to work. Nor will the usual hollow chorus of "thoughts and prayers." There are some quick(er) solutions to incorporate (smart technology, for example), but truly fixing it is going to take some real effort from all corners. I hope it's not your kids that get mowed down in the interim...

That's not an answer.

What specific new law would have prevented this?

It's absolutely an answer. You're not liking it doesn't change that.

So, back to Mr. Appleton's question; are you for new gun laws, enforcing the current ones, or a mix of both?

Current laws are being enforced. Girlfriend has been charged for giving the firearms to a known felon.

I seriously have my doubts that any new (unique) law will have affected this outcome, Since they already broke several laws.

Again i ask, what specific new law would have prevented this?
