Does anyone know Bobby Glesss history where did he work, what kind of worker was he .
I only remember working with Gless once as a mechanic.
He was Section Chairman at the time but he stayed for OT. Didnt see him for the first eight but he was there for the OT. Bobby, John Iulianno(current section chairman of JFK) and I were assigned to replace the galley floor in an A-300. He showed up late, worked briefly as he told a few jokes then his girlfriend who worked in the Credit Union showed up (he was married with a baby at home) and the two of them left, we did not see him for the rest of the shift.
You can call the JFK union office and ask for John Iulianno if you want to check out my story.
I also worked with Gless for three years while he was President of Local 562. For three years he complained about how tired and burnt out he was then he could not understand why not one single person on the board would support him for re-election.
You can ask Jimmy Gorman, Joe Villano, Pete Corabi, or John Mazza about that.
Bobby's duties, even though he was getting paid 40 hours a week from the company to do UB-no punching in out or even reporting, and getting an extra $26,000 on top of that from the Local, were spread out to the board. Frank DeMarinis worked himself into an ealy grave by running back and forth doing the membership meetings in EWR, PHL, and JFK. I did the meetings in BOS and BDL. Deane (who is also in the International) was supposed to be doing SJU but like Bobby, who was also being paid 40 hours a week by the company, somehow usually "did not get a chance" to do the meetings in SJU. What was Bobby doing? Who knows. Resting? Fixing his boat? Fixing his engine in his Vette? Painting his new $500,000+ house on the water?
Bobby was not going to get reelected. He made a lot of promises while running for President that he did not deliver. Granted that the negotiations for the 2001 contract took a lot of time but even there he fell short and failed to deliver what he promised by withholding information. His reports back usually only contained how tired he was.
Clearly Bobby was only interested in getting his International appointment with its six figure salary and double pension.
