It's a gathering. Gatherings of like minded people does not necessarily mean they are trying to convert. When i went to temple when I was a kid no one was trying to convert. If someone came and was curious I am sure someone would talk to them. When I think of proselytizing I am thinking of door to door or actively pursuing people.

As for what you agree with or don't agree with I can only go by what you write. Since you left out that part what would expect me to think? That seems like it would be a relevant point to address.
Conjecture, your inference is typical of you. I didn't do a line by line quote, so you interject some BS to meat your agenda.
Given that he is in the military and has served five years and two tours I think it goes with out saying that he is quite proud to be an American and has placed his life on the line to prove it. I do not see the point of your comment regarding him being grateful.
Of course you don't. He hasn't done anything more than many people have.
I would be willing to be he would be quite upset at that comment and I doubt you would have the courage to say that to his face.
F'him, I spent 3 years at Bragg and have gone nose-to-nose with some ornery troops myself.
