That is because you are part of the problem not part of the solution.

This is why you don't see the difference.

Nothing anyone can do about your blindness. I just hope it is not to late before you can see.

informer, I really don't see that much of a difference in the two programs. The term "pajama parties", was mearly a term to describe a meeting between two parties. As far as the post on LEAN, I did not author it, only brought it to your attention. I believe in the sentence that uses the word union, it describes amfa's leadership.

No, there's quite a lot of difference LSMHSS. For one, I don't see a "break through" goal of a union endorsed scab job fair for its UAL displaced workers. This is up there with the most vile act the twu has ever slithered into....or out of.

I haven't yet seen the president of Local 9 declare; "Damn right we're in bed with the company" like Burdchette so eloquently stated in his redneck manner. I think we already knew that as truth, but hearing a twu hillbilly state it as fact would make "Red" Mike Quill roll over in his grave. Company unionism twu style, its like no other.

I have never observed a compAAny that has wanted to keep its toy union so bad they are willing to go to any extreme to do so.

The twu's "leadership" wears a tie, you cannot discern where the union starts and the manAAgeemnt ends.

Have you ever wondered why that is LSMHSS?

Another interesting thought about this "we are going to bring work by kissing the companies ass" matter.

According to this TWU ATD Document
DecipheringTheData
(Also See Image Below)

AA is actually "insourcing" 20% of the total 42% outsourced AA work at AFW.

Tell us Mr. HSS,

Why is it that AFW can insource 20% of the 42% outsourced work?

I don't see the Local 567 President publicly admitting he is in bed with the company. Was there a pajama party at AFW prior to getting this work in-house?

It is obviously a management decision regarding third party work. And there is profit to be made doing Overhaul Maintenance.

Tulsa Base Management is just pulling another slick bribe of the union, and Dennis and apparently you also, are buying in hook, line, and sinker. How quickly you forget that Carmine was on the list of recipients for the hidden retirement program that got Carty ran off. Why run one management head off the property, and then follow and trust the other one, when both were involved in the same dirty deed?

Of course, maybe the TWU ATD Document is just more Jim Little Bull. But the fact does remain, the AFW has been insourcing more work than Tulsa, AFW is 70-80% AMFA, and that my friend has to add up to something other than we need to kiss Carmine's Ass to save a job!

Anyway, since you do not seem to be satisfied with than, and replacing them with another does not seem to be the answer,

Garfield, how can a union be replace inside a corrupt system where dead people are included in the eligibility list?

I was just posing the question. I have never been in a union. Just seems to me from reading the various threads that most (if not all) are dissatisfied with the current system. There seems to be griping about the salaries that the officers make. About the way their interests are being looked after … etc. Just seems to me that someone ought to be able to come up with a better way to do it.

Bear,

While you and I will probably never see eye to eye on much, I do not think you have ever known me to be disingenuous. I may be a PIA and you may think I’m nuts but I have never said anything I did not believe in. I would like to think I can be taken at face value.

You have to admit that if you can only come up with one example that worked that it does not bode well. My guess would be that if you talk to the members there, that they would come up with a list of stuff they do not like as well. Just a guess, I could be wrong.

I do agree with what someone said earlier that a less confrontational system would be nice but given the current climate I know that is asking way way too much.

Whatever!

You are extremely dense when it comes to reading and comprehension.

You answer nothing asked, and simply play games twisting replies to fit your twisted mind.

Yeah, OK AFW is going to follow Tulsa's lead and climb into bed with management.
Next thing you know, they will be building a new union hall down there too without approval of the membership. I bet you believe the Line Mechanics will follow the hillbilly too?

You give us complete confirmation that workers on the floor are incapable of running a maintenance facility. If the workers from the floor don't even have basic reading and comprehension skills, how could they possible qualify to manage the company?

Hee Hee Hee....most of the twu "leadership" is back at the box LSMHSS!!! The membership bounced most of the "Team twu" clowns out months ago. Although they are now having a rough time working instead of doing nothing all day when they were in office.

The booze is flowing well from the looks of some of them, having to watch out for the lower lip to keep from stepping on it Monday morning. Round two or three to EAP coming soon? Oh yeah.....

The current officers (well...most of them) get more done in a week than the "Team twu" sellouts did in months.

Sorry to ruin your twu dream LSMHSS. ;)

Yep, it sucks when the rest of the world does not function like Tulsa's inept and tainted 514 Company Local wishes it did.

It appears the TWU Supporters are now permanent fixtures under managements desk and no longer have time to defend the TWU's actions.

They are in so deep, there is no time for discussion.

What date will AMFA file the cards?

That sounds like the AFL-CIO would have to get off of their butts and support their members in the airline industry.
[post="277668"][/post]

As I've mentioned several times before Sweeney is in favor of consolidating the airline labor movement. Its no coincidence that most of the turmoil within the AFL-CIO is coming from his old union-the SEIU. Several AFL-CIO staff have left the AFL-CIO and gone to the SEIU to work on the _United We Win" campaign. This campain called for consolidation. Instead of multple unions fighting over the same members by trying to undercut each other workers would be in more specific unions, ones that would have the resources to specialize in representing those workers.

The fact is despite Littles lies the AFL-CIO is not in a position to direct its member unions to do anything. Member unions can leave as they wish, unlike union members.

I fault Sweeney for not coming out more forcefully and saying what needs to be done. He is too worried about politics within the Labor movement, which is one of the reasons why it is failing so miserably. I have to wonder what the man is thinking, he is not young, does he want to be remembered or better yet forgotten like Lane Kirkland?

AMFA should contact the SEIU since AMFAs goal of uniting all of M&R into one union is in line with what the SEIU is preaching. This talk horrifies the leaders of these catch all dues collecting agencies that will take anyones dues even though they know that they lack the resources or skills to make a meanigful difference in those workers lives. These people, who usually earn six figure salaries with minimal qualifications, other than being loyal suck ups for the ones they later replaced, do not want any part of a movement that may result in there not being a place for them. Its not about the members. These leaders have gotten very comfortable preaching about how the labor movement is failing not because of their failed leadership, but rather because the members "dont participate".
