flt 714 phl-vce

Sounds like an operational problem. Operations for US East flights are handled by OCC. OCC is in Pittsburgh.

What are you talking about???This has nothing to do with PIT...is has all to do with Tempe and their sring of monkeys who know nothing about transatl but try to fix things that arent broke

How about giving us more staff...I am working oversold 767's with a new and just me..theres alot more that goes into a transatl flt than a domestic and heres this poor new hire scared to death a people yell at him because they dont have a seat yet and then he gets mandatoried til 4:00a
It'll be a miracle if we keep half of the new hires....

Prime example of the stupidity here...you dont hire in the summer for the summer season..I dont need just a body at the gate...in the midst of an oversale I need someone who actually knows what to do.....

We've tried to tell them that in CLT also but they refuse to listen

VCE was delayed due to F/A deployed chute....it didnt inflate so we were able to fix it...we coulndt swap it because WE DONT HAVE ANY EXTRA PLANES....we need to keep the wide bodies close to PHL..yet every day we sent a 330 to SJU and every day it leaves late and we have to wait for it to return so we can send it to Europe.....send it to CLT or MCO so it can return if we need it in a reasonable time...but what do I know?

As for BRU....we had to wait for the 767 to come from CUN to send it out to BRU...
When is Tempe going to listen to our experts here in transatlantic...we have been running transatlantic for years and we knwo what we are doing...then in they come and screw everything up...why not just ask us...the arrogance is just amazing

and we are still short staffed...I run from one flt to the next(we open intl flts 2 hrs prior..if we have staff)no break to eat...go to restroom and that is one reason why flt are late..we have noone to work the flts because the agts are still tied up on previous flt trying to close out flt and yes we still have problems because QIK is possessed and does whatever it wants not what we need it to do
SOMEBODY HELP ME

Please forgive me.

You need to understand, by FAR, the company is assumed to deliver, to the gate, an airworthy aircraft. If they do not, you are more than covered if you walk. I would say, give them a chance to fix it in a reasonable amount of time then cancel the fight, publicly, if need be.

Shameful we should air Tempe dirty laundry just to get an airworthy aircraft.

US Airways reputation is taking a hit even among travelers that fly once a year or so. Word is getting out.

But then with all the other airlines running near capacity, where do people have to go?

How is a gate agent covered if they walk because of a delay? From Phillyphlyers posts it appears they are a gate agent. They cant walk if the flight canx. Theres a whole other thread about the agents leaving while there were a line of reroutes. The agents cant just pack up and walk home (or to the hotel) if the flight canx. We have to stay and clean up the mess made by others. Lets sneak down the jetway and go up the other gate so the customers standing in the reroute line dont see us leaving the plane.

??????????

TransAt dispatching is still handled from OCC in PIT. TransAt crew scheduling is still handled from OCC. TransAt MOC is still handled from OCC. TransAt load planning is still handled from OCC. Is OCC in Tempe? NO.

Marketing has stretched the aircraft utilization to the point where there is NO flexibility or ability to swap a/c on international routes. I believe that is what the poster was refering to when they mentioned Tempe. OCC cleans up the mess created by the marketing department from Tempe on the international routes on DAILY basis. By the way, the Hawaii service dispatched by SCC blows. Talk about a reliability problem!!!
