I agree with you Light Years. Even though I do think image is everything for a business, I think US Airways must concentrate on getting out of bankruptcy and lay the ground work for making a change into a competitive LCC. IF this all does work out, then a major shift should be to recreate it's image. I was at the airport yesterday, and I love their scheme, but some planes were laughable how bad they looked.
As I said, I think their scheme is very good, but it's too business like and conservative to be a LCC. I think a change will eventually come if the airline makes it. There are many fantasy schemes out there for US Airways to get some idea. I really like this one because it comes across as fresh and energetic while sticking to a similar theme as the current scheme. Also it would be less fade resistant which the current fleet is suffering from these days.

As for IFE, I couldn't agree more. Eventually every airline is going to have them... yes and that will go for Southwest if it becomes more common. Why not get a head start on the competition? People shot me down when I mentioned advertising exclusively on the IFE for a charge. With a captive audience there is bound to be a way to make some money off other companies, plus it's a way for free advertising for US Airways.
