I think possibly we tell AA management to piss off and all three unions go outside AA and negotiate some sort of an agreement with the likes of Delta and US air or someone else and bring AA management into the real world. Remember AA assets are only as good as the people that make them money. Now that's a serious case of denial if I've ever seen one.

Here's a news flash for you: management doesn't work for you -- your only choice at the beginning of each day is whether or not you decide work for them.

Now, if you want to raise the funding or bring in a competing bid, have at it. The terms won't be any better.

And also do so knowing that it doesn't always end well --- TWA's unions were the ones that brought in Carl Icahn, and Eastern's unions tried to bring in Peter Uberoth, after they essentially convinced Frank Borman to sell the company over to Frank Lorenzo.

In fact, I really can't think of a single employee-led effort which has been successful...

What makes you think the other airlines are run better? Do you have any concept of what the other employees from those airlines are paid, work conditions? You do know, AA was the last company to have a SCOPE clause with any teeth, right? Bottom line, the public bitches and moans about the price of plane tix, yet the prices haven't changed much in 20 years.

Bottom line, the industry sucks, no one has been able to be successful in this country in 10+ years without help, and all have had to cut employee benefits. If you took every dollar of every management team member's bonus, and redistributed it to the bottom line and / or the employees, everyone would see like $250 or less a year more in pay. Management team members that think all employees are lazy and selfish are morons, and employees that think all management team members are greedy and stupid are also morons.

Stop the negativity and fighting and just sit back and let the unions and airline work out some deals. Jesus....
