as the september 3 deadline approaches, i am sure i am not alone in considering a decision on whether or not to allow my vf to expire and return to flying. maybe i could get some insight on how things really are out on the line.
i am aware (and frustrated by) the itd fence elimination. the time balancing initiative was implemented while i've been out, what does that look like in the lives of reserves? and, etb? what is that? is it a positive thing?
some context: i would be returning to phl as a relatively junior reserve...
i appreciate any feedback, thoughts, insight, etc.

Come back and try it, if you don't like quit. Letting your VF run out is the same as quitting, so why not just come give it a try and maybe you can take advantage of a VFLR at some point. Or just walk away. At least you will know that if you decide to leave you made the right decesion and it won't nag at you.

I was rsv f/o in phl until mar of this year. Haven't missed it yet. I recommend the oilfield.

Having the ITD fence down was the best thing to ever happen in my opinion. At first , I wasnt into it. Now I really like being able to fly both domestic flying and transatlantic.
And plus...those senior mamas who #### about the ITD fence coming down have no reason to ####. They can hold these trips anyway with their 30+ years!

If you ask me, which I guess you did, I would stay out. Once this merger happens and things (hopefully) get better, I would come back then.
