Condolences to the families....

It doesn't seem long since we lost a US Airways Express plane in Charlotte....

The public may start asking if proper maintenance being performed on our Express aircraft....Is this maintenance outsourced ...given to the cheapest bidders?
It seems close because it was close. Bad Quality maintenance is a concern as they were the same type of aircraft. It makes one wonder. Especially me as I fly a fair amount of turboprops, both W/O's and contract carriers.

Condolences and prayers go without saying here.
My condolences to the families of the crew...and to all at Colgan.

According to recent reports I've heard and read , yesterdays tragedy marks the 17th Crash of a B1900 series aircraft since 1987.

To date , 156 lives have been lost in this type of aircraft..but the January Crash in CLT was the worst in regards to loss of life in a single event. (21)

I'm not going to start pointing fingers on this one until some hard facts surface...I suggest that we all hold off on speculating as well.

I do find it odd that this one sounds like the loss of function of a major flight control surface as is the leading suspect cause on the CLT crash.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the pilots and their families as well as all US families. I did hear late last night that the pilots were headed toward a beach and turned the plane sharply thus saving several lives. These gentlemen are also heroes. May God bless them and their loved ones.
