On January 29 I flew on Delta from Daytona Beach to Albany, NY with a connection at Hartsfield. The 7:10 am depature out of DAB was delayed over an hour due to frost on the wings, in order for the rising sun to melt the frost. DL does not have de-icing equipment at DAB. I missed my connecting flight to ALB, scheduled for 9:32 am. I found the nearest customer service agent on Concourse B, explained my need. She told me I was already booked on the next flight to ALB, departing 12:35 pm. That flight departed on time and I was home that afternoon.
I really appreciated the system re-booking me, before I asked to be rebooked. That's customer service!
My only suggestion. The customer service agents in DAB could have informed the passengers as to the cause of the delay. The only reason I knew was a Delta pilot, non-reving to ATL, told me. I guess its not cost effective to have de-icing at DAB.
