Anyone have any news on how the move for HP EWR employee's worked? What terminal are they in? I helped  re-open EWR-we took it back from CO-and I am very curious....

Well Kao, the HP employees for the most part did not move. The ticket counter stayed put for the time being but they did move satilites in Terminal A. From a Passenger stand point, the move stinks. Passengers must check in at one end of the Terminal and walk all the way to the other end where the Security lines are much longer. The ops agents now share an office with the U agent and the Gate agents do have a smaller breakroom on the ramp level over by gate 38. Ground handling is still done by Delta Globe Services, not U FSA employees.

So how are the employees getting along? Are there warm-and-fuzzies or hard-and-pricklies?

That's pretty intersesting, I fly there next week I was wondering that myself. I can tell you, last month I was in Philly twice and was not happy, the people there are rude and uptight, or is it just me since I live out here in the WEST!?!?! :D

Someone on the US forum said they have 4 gates at EWR, 2 for them, 1 for express, and 1 will be ours. Don't we need more than 1 gate in EWR?

The current online timetable shows a total of 6 flights per day - 4 to/from PHX and 2 to/from LAS.

It's a Northeast thing. Wait till you get to CLT! Southern charm for real.

EWR has Four Gates in Terminal A,

Gate 36 - USAirways Express and Mainline IN-OP GPU
Gate 37 - USAirways Mainline
Gate 38 - America West IN-OP GPU
Gate 39 - Leased to Independence Air

Currently, HP has Three RON aircraft and U has Five. Indy Air has one but we can not use the gate for any reason.

With my 24 years of service, I get the great days of Wednesday/Thursday off so when I go into work tomorrow I will let you know how things are going. I would guess things in the morning are a little crazy with the different vendors towing the RON aircraft to the Gates. And YES, U PAYS a VENDOR to Tow RON A/C instead of having their own FSA's do it.

Believe it or not, the gate agents at PHL are nicer than they used to be. Some really good ticket agents have left, and that has been disappointing, but yes, PHL is a huge problem that Mr. Parker will have to deal with. And, don't listen to what anyone may say to the contrary, if you can avoid it, don't check bags to PHL.

Sorry, let me say it was more the "general public" not so much the people working the gate. Sorry to those of you who live there, but I was not pleased at all, like I said, it must be me, since I'm 100% native of Arizona! I don't think I'll be moving EASTWARD anytime soon...(at least I hope!!)
Now back to EWR, I guess it will be a surprise for me when I get there!

a Seattle CSR said that the ticket counters were being measured for new signage last week (8/9). I'm not sure about gate consolidaton. HP uses A1 & A2 in the morning and several B gates in the afternoon. U is on the N satelite builiding, which requires using the Sea-Tac subway.

I hope that USAirways has more counter space than AW's current ticket counter at SEA-TAC. Ours is way too small and confined for the amount of flights and passengers that we handle on a daily basis at that particular airport. As for our gates at SEA-TAC, it has been a comedy trying to find where you are departing from....A concourse? B concourse? S satellite? With Delta leaving the B concourse, didn't that vacate several (old Western) gates there that we might be able to use on a permanent basis?

US moved to the North Satellite to be closer to UA for its conx ability. We were having people schlep from A to N with only a 30 min conx and I'm sure many didnt make it. I see that B6 is in the N terminal. Maybe they can move to B and move HP over to N and use the US gates when we arent using them (which appears to be most of the day). I would think it would be better to still have US in the N terminal for the UAX conx offered there.
