I just got these photos of a 170 that blew all main tires on landing...supposedly in IAH. I don't know when it happened. Anyone familiar with this? Tail number 804MD.

Old pics, I believe that happened several months ago. The A/C was operated by MDA and the parking brake was set prior to landing.

Thanks. I hadn't heard about this incident before. Sorry if its old news.

An F-28-4000 experienced this sort of "anomoly" at BOS in 1988, while under Piedmont Colors. The crew didn't set that park brake either <_< !!

I remember the call from ops: "A/C-xxx called in and said they are applying large amounts of power and the aircraft will not move off the runway  ?"

Cause: Park brake set, Anti-Skid switch OFF.

Nice pictures though. Thanks for sharing them. :)
My pleasure. I have a few more...basically close-ups of the wheel and tires If anyone wants to see them let me know & I'll post them.

The parking break was pressurized about 15 minutes prior to landing. It is not known whether the brake was set, or there was a malfunction. Both have happened, the parking brake lever is next to the flight spoiler lever and has been inadvertantly pulled on other Embraer models. There have also been system problems on at least two 170/190 series aircraft with the brake set and the handle down.

This occurance was last summer in IAH.

airport,

I would love to see photographs of anything you may have (that goes for anyone who visits these boards). I would suggest that you post them here however. Topics tend to fade away or get lost in the mix, but posting them in the Photo area will ensure everyone gets to see them. Thanks and keep up the good work.
