Equity Update

There you go trying to bully another user of the forum and your Avatar says everything any needs to know about you.
No, when it comes to my 401k I want the TWU to get the highest company match as the can. If they cannot get something comparable with UAL or Delta, this one is on the company. What do they need credit for? This Association is a prime example of the Local and now the International inability to grab their rightful position of historically taking the position of the union at American Airlines when it was rightfully theirs. It is the IAM that should have never been able to hold even their half position of the Association. I would be curious if there are documents detailing power grab. You must know that the AFL/CIO is at the bottom of this and you demand that we don't discuss it because you fail to understand.
What the TWU did to its members by joining the Association without a vote is why we're in the position we're in. We would have been better off if we voted and had to go with the IAM or the TWU. I thought it was so dumb of the TWU to go along with the Association, that I wondered what are they getting out of this deal that we don't know about.

More Dues money. It's all about money not the membership. AA is the same. It's about money. Maximize profits at all costs. Sometimes we can't even tell the two apart unless you look at the name on the door.

Don’t know what you’re tastes in Music are Buck but I thought I might share this little gem from 1961. (No subliminal message just really good Music)

I would say that while Jim Little's fingers are in the manure, it is the AFL-CIO ordering the Sub-Unions to keep as many dues paying members as possible.

Yea but... aren't we looking at increased contracting out of T2 and Fleet? Also, isn't the IAM facing losing their pension and medical?

Shouldn't these issues be strike issues or...if not, then what?

"isn't the IAM facing losing their pension and medical?"

Big DIFFERENCE between LOSING a Pension and FREEZING a Pension.
The IAM pension years PRIOR to JCBA WILL NOT be Lost.

The IAM is not LOSING their Medical just giving up the Company SUBSIDY and PAYING what ALL other Team Members are paying at AA.

Welcome to the Club on both Accounts.

There is no way that the MAJORITY of TWU members will strike for the items you mentioned . If you think so you are living in Fantasy Land.

Try striking for the items you mentioned and see how much public sympathy you get when the Company wages their propaganda WAR and tells the public we are rejecting over $50.00 / HR in Wages and Benefits.

In my 32+ years at AA TWU has NEVER CALLED A STRIKE. They are not about to start now and give up lots of dues money. Follow the Money.

How many years are you guys going to keep convincing yourselves of things you’ve already convinced yourselves of anyway?

Just curious what the point is of repeating these things so often amongst yourselves?

Your right, I misspoke... Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly.
  1. We should be okay with FREEZING the IAM guys pensions.
  2. We should be okay with bringing them into our higher rate medical with no cap on company increases.
  3. We should be okay with increased contracting out on the Title 2 and Fleet side.

I mean if we're all okay with that stuff then,,, by all means, I'm on board with you Rusty, put it out for a vote.

And, your right , we have never struck, but, are we willing to hold out and then possibly go to mediation after a long and tedious Section 6 if we're not okay with the items above.

In case you did not know we have ALREADY been LOSING JOBS at TULSA for the last 15 years and CONTINUE to do so EVERY MONTH. [Especially Title 1 Jobs] That is why our TWU numbers are less than HALF of what they were in 2002. Every Time a Title 1 person walks out the door for the last time at AA TULE they take that Job with them and are NOT being Replaced.

Title 2 Folks- Welcome to the Party.

Not only are we losing People but we are also losing Physical Space to do Aircraft Overhaul Work at TULE. [Docks 4 A and 4 D]

I haven't heard or seen any Line Folks hammering the Company during the Town Halls about the situation that has been ongoing for the last 15 years at TULE. And if you did not know this about TULE blame your TWU Leadership.

Strike issues?

We're not in the 1990's. They're is a 0% a legacy airline will be allowed to strike.

This call for a vote is more about, in my opinion, not having enough information and trying to get it rather than an endorsement of what's in an eventual TA.

If we go into Section 6, it would be better if it's with a resounding no vote on what's currently available. Saying no before going into Section 6 is counter productive and gives us absolutely no leverage to make changes At least no substantial changes, like eliminating outsourcing.

That's how the IAM could sell a TA.
