Envoy....No more Bruch from Europe....

I think the meal we are all thinking about is the burrito, and just as fellow member Whatnow? pointed out to all of us, it was indeed chicken and not tuna. The FA's on my flight referred to this as Tamale or Empanada, so to each his/her own. The photo you will see below was taken on a LGW-CLT in the first week of January 2008, prior to the new Envoy meal roll out in Spring of 2008. This meal/snack replaced the boxed pizza and I thought it was pretty good. Presentation much nicer than the boxed pizza. Probably my last post in 2008 as I'm soon heading out with friends/family. Happy New Year to all of you!

When I was in Philadelphia last year it was tuna at one point. They claimed by mistake. So this is a Latino Empanada they call it? I have been a lot of places like Spain, Vanazuala, and Brazil but never have seen an Empanada like that. That is called a sorry looking burrito. Envoy class :lol: Wolf must just scream at what his precious Envoy has become at the hand of these jokers .

That has to be the best one liner of 2008! :up: Dog Food indeed. Reminded me of the 1980's add on tv with the dog food getting hot branded like beef. Awsome!

Hmmm, if it looks like dog food, and smells like dog food...

Wake up Tempe! CO gives us meals in FC on anything over 2 hrs, and on transcon they give 4 meal choices. Also added personal entertainment systems in FC and they're putting TV in coach... And they are STILL serving FREE meals in coach while you are charging people for water.

Wake up Tempe! You're making your product so substandard that EVERY other carrier is providing better value for the money.

In a lousy economy, people will want the BEST value for their money.

Eventually there are not going to be enough hub captives and first time flyers willing to fall into the US Airways trap.

That thing in the picture was definitely a burrito, not a tamale or an empanada. Anyway, burritos and pizza are yummy snacks (as long as they don't have tuna or any other seafood YUCK!!! I would starve to death before I would eat seafood) but they aren't appropriate for Envoy. I can't believe whoever decided on the Envoy menu even thought that those things were appropriate. Apparently they haven't been to an upscale restaurant or know what fine dining is, unless of course they consider Taco Bell and Pizza Hut upscale. It's disappointing really but I'm not all surprised. :down: Oh and BTW, not everybody goes out to eat at fast food places. Some people choose more elegant restaurants with higher quality food prepared by real chefs. Stop trying to disguise a McDonald's hambuger as a five star entree with five star prices! It's unethical and not working. I'll just stick to my 7dirty7 trips with short flights and no meals and closets up front and space in the galley up front which is where I always work anyway. Will our management ever get it? You can't be a low cost carrier with full service carrier prices and empty promises! We should either take out FC/Envoy and not have it at all or do it right, like we used to when Wolf/Gangwal were here. This half-arsed way isn't cutting it! It should be all or nothing! :down:

Remember Tempe does not care about what is best for the customer. They removed IFE, they removed the power ports. And food? LOL! Dream on for food over 3 hours. If they could have it their way they would have the snack basket on transcons as well.

LCC = Low Crap Carrier.

I have a question. Why does the Burrito in Kinglobjaw's photo have writting on the top. I can make out a logo followed by an E then a M and O below that? Just curios, is US selling ads on the Envoy meals now? Sorry could not resist.

Cheers

A thousand years from now, archeologists will be asking the same question when all of these burritos are found in a PHL landfill.

They will still smell like tuna.

I don't understand for the life of me how anyone in management can admit that the Envoy service is competitive. If they flew on other carriers which we have hashed out on here a zillion times they would see that the product is NOT, NOT, NOT in line with other carriers. The fares that passengers pay in Envoy certainly are right on par with the other airlines though. Hmmmmm. As someone mentioned you will eventually have less hub captive passengers to which US will have as suckers. A burrito, enpanada or whatever....thats considered Envoy? Ok :rolleyes: US is sooooooo below other carriers but the scary part is there are some that honestly don't think so. YIKES! ! ! ! What could have been with this merger and what has come of this merger is truly sad. US is like a sailboat at sea with no wind.
