Bob Jordan says that the end of Wright will provide WN with tremendous opportunities including the ability to potentially added nonstop stop service to scores of new markets.

There are some rather pricey neighborhoods near Love Field. I wonder how the increase in noise and frequency of take-offs and landings is going to play at City Hall come election time. I'm glad to see the end of the Wright Amendment, but a number of NIMBY folk have moved into the area since its inception. I know one of them personally, and he is already complaining about the noise over his house.

Don't you just love when people move next to an airport only to complain about noise when traffic increases. They will even go so far as to demand the government soundproof their home or make accommodations.

The NIMBYs had their say during the rewrite of Wright which is partly why WN will be operating DAL far below what it could be because of a small terminal building.

The opportunity for WN will come by maximizing the gates it has by adding higher revenue longer haul destinations, using larger aircraft like the 738, and increasing the size of their operation beyond what it currently is - which has been impacted by post 9/11 reductions in short-haul air travel.

WN realizes the potential the N. Texas market has; their ability to dominate an airport fits their model while the location of DAL to downtown Dallas is more favorable than many other secondary airports that WN dominates relative to the dominant airport in other cities.
